Uncanny X-Men #19

UNCANNY X-MEN #19 was a wonderful read from start to finish. The fact that they were able to flawlessly implement cinematic style storytelling in comic book form made this a refreshing, out of the box style read. Even if this ending feels premature, theres been enough subtext throughout Bunns run that allows you to interpret the reasoning behind this conclusion. Here we have that rare superhero fight with two heroes that are not only evenly matched but have equally strong and realistic convictions. Thats the benefit of Bunn writing these characters with such complexity, using their rich histories instead of ignoring them and we can only hope that the next writer taking the mantle picks up on that thread. Overall, Bunn's Uncanny X-Men run has been an interesting, but inconsistent one. There were some strong moments and character work (Sabretooth and M), mixed with appearances from obscure X-Characters (The Nasty Boys and Emplate). At the same time, certain arcs (like the one that set up Archangel's new status quo) further complicated characters who are already far too complicated to begin with. Read Full Review

Bunn knocked it out of the park with this series. This is one of the best x-writer's in a long time.

Out of the three X series I just think this was the worst of the three. So chaotic and random that I didn't appreciate it. I'm glad it's over and I'm glad we are moving on to ResurrXion hopefully we can get some more solid stories.

Fulfilling a vow, Psylocke attacks Magneto in the Savage Land and kills him for a hot second. This is a nice stylish duel to wrap up the title, though I don't think it's too much of a spoiler to say that Psylocke's victory over Magneto is short-lived. It's visually impressive but pretty short and ultimately a bit pointless.
