Jul 07, 2006Uncanny X-Men #475 was a very solid read. As I expected, Brubaker delivered a well written comic with good dialogue and nice character development. Brubaker and Tan make a nice team and I am looking forward to their run on this title. For the first time in a long time I am actually looking forward to the next issue of Uncanny X-Men. If you have stayed away from Uncanny X-Men over the past several years, now is the perfect time to hop back on to this title. Brubaker is going to make Uncanny X-Men a good read once again. Jul 10, 2006I never would've thought a writer who specialized in the urban crime genre (Catwoman, The Fall) could pull off an X-Men story so well. But "The Rise and Fall of the Shi'ar Empire" is off to an excellent start, with a mix of well-paced action and solid characterization. If consistency is maintained, this could shape up to be one of the better runs of Uncanny X-Men in recent memory. Read Full Review

Jul 11, 2006Billy Tan excels with clear character depictions and dramatic battle scenes, and praise must go to colorist Frank DArmata as well, who finds perfect shades of green for Lornas hair, eyes and lips. This is a strong team that seems set to deliver a classic X-Men epic in the coming months. Read Full Review

Jul 13, 2006My emotions are mixed by this issue. Obviously, I am excited thinking about what could happen next, but I cant ignore that a complicated and confusing storyline begins with an issue that is vague and confusing. No doubt this is an important issue to buy for any X-Men fan. It is just a wretched starting point. Because I think it was poorly plotted out and wasnt excited by the art, I only give it , but I still strongly recommend buying it, along with some of the stories leading up to it. Read Full Review
