Erik Larsen is who draws and writes this wonderful one-shot of the Cap, Larsen knows how to capture the true essence of the Star Spangled Avenger and does it specifically against his favorite nemesis: Red Skull, the color goes by Dono Snchez-Almara, I follow Snchez-Almara's work as an illustrator in social media since a long time ago and it's a personal joy to see his name with one of the greats in the history of the comics, really a piece of art that can not be missing in any collection of comics. She's been doing what she does for years and years, now she finally can stop. Her guilt about now being there when the event happened has been rounded out with this final move. So, yes, you should definitely read Captain Marvel: The End #1. You won't regret it. And if you're not reading Captain Marvel, you should do that too. Read Full Review

Larsen creates some beautiful art throughout this issue. From the first action filled pages to the quieter, contemplative moments, Larsen gives the visuals an energy that ebbs and flows with the story. A great looking issue. Read Full Review

Dono Sanchez-Almara's colors compliment Larsen's artwork perfectly. In spite of being an apocalyptic landscape, the art and story-telling never seem dull or tedious. This is a classic comic done in a way which feels fresh and interesting. Its also a prototypical Captain America story, one which readers should enjoy for decades to come. Read Full Review

A fine read from a skilled comic craftsman taking a shot at a classic property in their own style. I have not read a solo Captain America book in some time and this was a nice diversion from my normal weekly books. If Marvel is willing to give their major properties over to creative forces to experiment and bring their perspective (even for a non-continuity one-shot), I will give them a shot. Read Full Review

If you are a big Captain America fan" perhaps this is still something you want to add to your collection. The fact it's a complete story, you don't need any other issues to get the whole story might be an appeal to some. For me, I'd let this one go, it didn't grab me or really add any interesting element to the character. Read Full Review

Captain America: The End #1 may feel a little simplistic, but that's by design. A full-throated homage to Cap co-creator Jack Kirby more than anything else, this comic nonetheless is a worthy celebration of what makes him great. The poor coloring, though, dampens the affair, but overall, this is a fun, zippy read. Read Full Review

Somehow I found enjoyment out of this but in all reality its a pretty dumb idea bur if you like cheesy on the nose captain books from back in the day this will bring some smiles.

Hey, it's I Am Legend starring Captain America! It's a mighty derivative premise and there's some further clumsiness in the plotting -- Cap explaining the status quo to the survivors right after the narrator explains it to us is redundant. On the art side, I can see the intent was to pay tribute to Jack Kirby, but the results aren't all that attractive.
