I am in a bit of a conundrum with Strange Academy #4. As I do not right now feel an attachment to these characters or stories, but then every time I read an issue I enjoy it all the same. The Strange Academy students handle book-shelving (which involves more demon-fighting than at your average school) and high-stakes cross-dimension tag. And bubbling antagonism swells up to confront them soon. Scottie Young has the right recipe, all the right ingredients, it's just a matter of working on how long he takes cooking. I want to see more teacher/student interaction and teaching as well as relationships forming throughout our main cast of characters. Strange Academy #4 was another solid entry in what has quickly become one of Marvel's most consistently fun ongoing series. Skottie Young and Humberto Ramos did a good job using a game of tag between the students into a fun adventure across different parts of the Marvel Universe. Issue #4 was GREAT fun! As usual the artwork was AWESOME and Skottie Young delivers a nice build uo to the big story with cover descriptions of Issues #5 and #6. I understand completely why Zoe wants to keep her secret and Dessy was a bit heavy handed with her actions. Hoping to see more of the Hollow bad guys and I always LOVE Bats appearing. Who is the captive behind the door in the basement? Is it the creature where Doctor Strange cooped up his fears or is baron Karl Mordo traoped there again? Excited for more! :)

Day-to-day duties and shenanigans alike carry plenty of risk at Strange Academy. The short-term story is fun, and it's livened up by a few hints about bigger picture matters. The art is still good, but not as undeniably great as it was in prior issues.
