While the time skip is still a major issue, Storm & The Brotherhood of Mutants#2 is certainly worth reading. Its characters are brilliant, its setting demands further exploration, and the stakes have never been higher. While it is certainly painful to lose a character as esteemed as Storm, it's only a temporary loss, and it will certainly be fun to get to see her Brotherhood live up to her name 900 years down the line. Storm & The Brotherhood of Mutants #2 made more sense than any of the other issue twos and still managed to hold true to the characters still alive at the time. The Star Wars Space Opera that was the foundational aspect of the issue was a bit cheeky, however, I didn't mind it as much as one would suspect. No one can doubt the comparisons. Nevertheless, the plot struggles are still very real, extremely complex, and hard to navigate within the Sins of Sinister event. Read Full Review

If one reader wished to bring his X-men experience to a closure, this could be the final Storm issue, and this could be the final Destiny issue. It's that good.

On its own merits this issue is an incredible Star Wars-style space opera full of big drama and feeling and cool starfighter battles, but lingering in the background is the sense that while the 100 year gap is simply, clearly and effectively communicated (unlike certain other issues of this crossover I could name) we're getting a mere summary of the sorts of passions that were so powerful in X-Men Red and Immortal X-Men, the structure leaving space for little more than a rough summary of things like Irene & Raven's drama. But whatever complaints I have about the cost of the overarching structure, this was nevertheless solidly the best issue of the +100 arc

Do we know how Storm was able to live that long? She’d have to be what, 135?.I was confused on that.

Having thought more about this now that you brought it up, it occurs to me that many of the characters are inexplicably ancient. It's possible we're meant to suspend our disbelief, but I suspect that's something that's going to be explained later (perhaps dovetailing with an explanation of how Mystique & Destiny are seemingly immortal?)

There is a rooted lore and past explanations surrounding the mutant gene, Krokoan advancements in science, medicine and technology. Delayed aging / prolonged life is simply a byproduct of the Krokoan age. Occams Razor, if you will. Great review OP, for a great issue.

To add additional thoughts. Mystique has autonomy over her abilities on a molecular level as she is able to present as any age she chooses. Essentially she is immortal by gift, and has the added benefit of a life coupled to a woman with an abilitiy to steer her clear of certain death.

As for Destiny, i don't have as thorough an an understanding of ability. But with her powers of foresight. One could assume her advanced age might simply be chalked up to a product of viewing, and taking the paths needed for such a prolonged existence.

This worked very well overall. I could feel the weight of the 100 years on everyone here, which is impressive since we barely see it. I will say that the reasoning behind not ending this timeline now came across a bit weak to me. I understand why the characters in question would reason it this way but... come on. I'll get over it, obviously. This event is still great, and wholly worth the read.

The art is terrific from the first to the last panel. The prose is snappy and the script develops the plot of the event with a vengeance. It's an exciting and satisfying comic. It's a very good comic. But it's not quite a great comic, and I think it's because as we go racing into this alternate future, we're running low on sympathetic viewpoint characters. Don't get me wrong, the story is plenty engaging. But the surviving mutants are strangers, and events are moving so fast that it's hard to get to know them.

When Al Ewing gives it his all, he knocks it out of the park. I didn't get everything here, mostly cuz I'm skipping the other sinister books, but this was still quite enjoyable.

A fun middle issue for this miniseries. This space adventure did a solid job of conveying the effects of the past 90 years on the characters, and I enjoyed seeing their plan being put into place. I always love seeing Storm being badass, and it's why she's one of my absolute favorite Marvel mutants, if not my top favorite. This also leads to me not wanting her death to come at the end of the issue, but as long as it works for the story. Plus, not many stay dead in comics for long (Especially since we're going back to the normal timeline/timeframe after the next issue).
