But Why Tho? - Adrian Ruiz

    May 12, 2021

This is the kind of Star Wars I am sure fans have been waiting for. Readers continue to see characters that were introduced in other media like Avar Kriss and Vernestra Rwoh, which has led to speculation and discussions that I haven't seen in the fandom since The Sequel Trilogy. Despite the cast of characters being expanded with every issue, Keeve Treenis continues to be the star and the symbol for what a Jedi should be. Read Full Review

Comics: The Gathering - Ellie J.

To my astonishment, this series has massive ramifications for the plot of The High Republic as a whole. I won't spoil what those ramifications are, but I wasn't expecting this plot point to be developed until the "bigger" adult novels like The Rising Storm in a couple weeks. It really just proves why The High Republic is the best thing to come out of Star Wars in years: everything is important and has meaning, not just the bigger stories with the bigger audiences. The Fandom Post - Chris Beveridge

    Mar 01, 2022

While I'm still not really fully into the High Republic era like I am the prequel and original trilogy material, I'm still excited at the potential for the storytelling. This storyline is part of the larger overall push but I'm looking forward to some downtime soon with the characters to get a better handle on them and the galaxy they inhabit. Cavan Scott keeps things moving here with an issue that's pretty much all action and the art team keeps up with it well between the variety of players and the way the situation itself unfolds. It looks good and has a smooth read overall which makes for a good experience. Read Full Review

Monkeys Fighting Robots - Justin Munday

Although it resolves with a bit of an absurd twist, 'The High Republic" #5 is still an entertaining and fast paced Star Wars comic with high stakes and ever-fantastic artwork. Read Full Review

    COMICON - Tony Thornley

The Jedi face the Hutts and the Drengir in a three way war. Scott creates a strong emotional core for the heroes. The art is solid but falls short in a few moments. Overall though, it's a great climactic story for this opening arc. Read Full Review

From Cavan Scott's mind to the world of Star Wars make a very good mix because of the Storytelling that he has come up with for The High Republic series, I have no doubt that the rest of this series moving on will be equal to the rest of his work. This Edition of the series really has everything that it takes to make a masterpiece, exciting and unpredictable moments that make big changes for the more important characters, dark moments that make sense and have an impact on the whole story, and characters that feel real that hold important roles through light and dark parts of the book. All these reasons appear in this comic book, Ceret and Terec both show there true power of the force as soon as you open the book you find out how powerful th more

This issue was a little better than the last couple, but frankly the plot is hard to stay interested in.Mostly because it uses the same old stuff I see everywhere else in sci-fi nowadays. The fact that parasitic aliens using bodies for hosts has become a majorly overused concept in modern Science fiction for one. It grows tiresome. That's one of the reasons I quit watching Dr. Who. I guess High republic is missing that something Dark Horse's Old Republic era books had. While this is currently the only Star Wars title I'm currently reading, I don't know if I'll be sticking with it. This is a book that's real hard to get a grip on when it comes to how well I enjoy it. And with the obvious upcoming rise in comic prices it looks like we'll hav more
