Doctor Aphra #8 brings "The Screaming Citadel" to a fitting conclusion, with there being plenty of action throughout. It's weird that Luke has lost any and all interest in the crystal considering how much trouble he went through to unlock it, but I'll go with it given his excuse. I found this to be a thrilling conclusion to an arc that I very much enjoyed. It's a little different from your typical Star Wars stories, but that's why I like it.

The Villain

The Doctor Aphra has an advantage over the Star Wars books because of the art. This brings an end to Screaming Citadel and it was fine. A solid ending. There are a few attempts at humor that really don't work though. I'm glad that both series are moving on though.

Ugh. After the strong start this series had with the "Screaming Citadel" one-shot, it ends with me just being thankful it's over and wondering if I need to keep buying the Star Wars titles. To call these titles inconsistent would be doing them credit. Here, Broccardo's cartoony style just doesn't fit, and I was just frankly bored by the story, uninterested in its villains, uninterested by the Aphra/Sana Solo relationship, and just wanted it to end.
