Star Wars: Doctor Aphra #24

Incredible tension paired with spectacular visuals make this a Star Wars “must read.” Every turn of the page has Aphra and her companions getting deeper into trouble; just when the reader think it can't get worse it does. The visuals are fantastic for wonderful character work and epic settings and ships. If only the lettering was allowed to soar as the rest of the book does. Fantastic Star Wars adventure. Doctor Aphra still feels like it's having a hard time finding its way since it was removed from the previous Darth Vader series and I keep waiting for it to truly click. There are fun things going on and the return of the droids makes me very happy since the dynamic between the characters is what makes a lot of it work. Spurrier keeps things moving here but I kind of wish we had a bunch of standalone or smaller stories that get to the fundamentals instead of these bigger arcs. Walker and Deering have been strong on the book since the beginning of their run and that's no different here as it looks great and has a lot of fun little details as it unfolds. Much like all the issues that led to this penultimate issue of the storyline, this issue was complicated and cumbersome, as each page is stuffed with multiple storylines that the reader must attempt to keep straight in order to make sense of Aphra's journey. Read Full Review

This is when all of your misdeeds come back to bite you in the ass at once. Apparently some critics found this hard to follow? There are many conflicting plans running amuck, but it's not difficult to understand unless it's been a year since you read the previous issue. Read this arc in one go if your reading comprehension isn't up to snuff.
