While Kreel and his men fail the Dark Lord of the Sith, something few do and live to tell the tale, the latest issue of Marvel's Star Wars series doesn't completely shut the door on this storyline as Scar Squadron is able to salvage a small victory from their defeat by taking a hostage from the doomed Star Destroyer, one that Vader knows all too well. A new Kenobi installment the next time around has me excited and I'm largely glad to put this arc behind me. I like the idea and some of the execution but the characterization felt more like a summer camp excursion than something more serious. More so in some of the previous issues, especially with that whole awful race to the bridge thing. The SCAR squadron still has potential but they feel like they weren't up to snuff here and that far too much luck saved the day when it came to our heroes, something that doesn't always work well when there's too much of it concentrated as it is here. Here's hoping for a better arc after the Kenobi issue, something that should be fun based on the previous Kenobi stories we've had so far. Read Full Review

A great conclusion to an epic story arc. This issue was action-packed from start to finish and had a surprising twist on the last page.

I found the fight between Luke and Kreel to be a bit of a disappointed after they built him up so well in the first issue of this arc, but this was still a great finale to a fairly consistent arc.. The R2 story at the end of the book really isn't worth the two minutes of reading though.

Mercifully the last chapter in an arc that has been uneven, at best. This story was just silly (Han/Leia racing across the destroyer; floating outside it in space with only flimsy masks as protection). More disturbing to me, though, is Marvel allowing such substandard art in its bestselling title. The return to Ben Kenobi's journal and Salvador Latricia art next issue are sorely needed for this flagging book.
