But Why Tho? - William Tucker
Jul 20, 2022Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings #1 is an energetic first issue with a lot to love. It is full of action that is excellently captured by To that solidifies Shang as one of the most visually dynamic Marvel heroes when used correctly. The potential for guest stars is high just from those who have already been included, but the hero of the book already has demonstrated the ability to stand up and carry the book with his own strength. Jul 20, 2022Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings #1 is a martial arts battle fest from beginning to end. It's an explosive way to kick off the series and a change of pace from the usual first issues, which are usually mostly filled with exposition and set-up for future issues. Read Full Review

Jul 20, 2022Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings #1 starts the issue numbering reboot with plenty of action and stellar art but a thin plot that does little to get readers invested in the story. Come for the cool action, but pass if you want something more. Read Full Review

Jul 31, 2022Shang-Chi And The Ten Rings #1 isn't bad, and some panels of Marcus To drawing kung fu are fun, but there wasn't a spark or a surprise. Not for me, this reviewer supposes. We host a preview of the comic here. Surprisingly, no snarky commentary from Jude or the preview bot. Maybe next time. Read Full Review
