It is full of action that is excellently captured by To that solidifies Shang as one of the most visually dynamic Marvel heroes when used correctly. The potential for guest stars is high just from those who have already been included, but the hero of the book already has demonstrated the ability to stand up and carry the book with his own strength. Third year in a row, and a third #1. Gene Luen Yang spends time catching new readers up, once the plot kicks into high-gear it really starts to shine. Though, I am really missing Dike Ruan's artwork. I hope this series reaches the same heights as its predecessor.

This is a pretty good kick-off issue. It brings the reader up to speed with Shang-Chi's status quo without interrupting the rising action pace. Plenty of fighting here, and it's all drawn very nicely. The script is structured well and the prose uses fewer cliches than in the last series, for which I'm grateful. Here's hoping that Delilah, Shang's would-be girlfriend, gets 2 or maybe even *3* appearances in this volume!
