This is the lowest I've seen Jen in this entire run as she worries about her relationship with Jack. Rainbow Rowell has made She-Hulk the strongest, both physically and mentally than I've seen her in years. With mixed emotions, I wait to see how she brings this series to a close. Read Full Review

Sensational She-Hulk #9 very much a transition issue (somewhat appropriate for the series penultimate entry). Jen is moving beyond her relatively small world in this series toward presumably a bigger role with the Avengers. But even with that on the horizon, the creative team doesnt lose track of what makes this series work. Read Full Review

This has been a really great series and I'm sad to hear that it is ending with the next issue. Of course, maybe it will be back soon, like the previous series led immediately into this one. If so, I hope that Rainbow Rowell continues as writer and Genolet continues as the artist -they both do extraordinary work on this book and they should be recognized and rewarded for it. Rowell has turned all of Jen's supporting cast into truly interesting, fun and engaging characters. Even the bit players, like Ransack and Karkas, come alive. Her decision to make Titania into Jen's best frenemy was inspired and worked with that characters' recent efforts at reform. Jack of Hearts has more appeal than he has ever had. The main focus of the story in this issue was Jen's uncertainty and insecurity over whether or not to accept an offer from Captain Marvel to rejoin the Avengers. Her uncertainty over how that will affect her relationship with Jack and her own doubts about her suitability and even her past accomplishments as an Avenger come across as real and understandable concerns. In the end, the fact that all of the characters are so real and likeable - especially Jen - is what makes the book so good. more

This book has been great from the start. Fun, not too heavy, just a nice slice-of-life story for the Marvel universe. The art is ok, but the writing really takes the cake. I too will be sad to see this end, but hopefully there will be another immediate follow-up book that will follow She-Hulk in her new adventures as an Avenger. Or better yet, keep it a slice-of-life book that just shows her during Avengers down-time. The main book will have all the heroics and exploits, the Avenging She-Hulk (heh) can just be hanging with Jack up in the city, picking out new decorations for her room, awkward encounters with Tony and other Avengers, things like that.
