A SECRET EMPIRE TIE-IN!
Captain America has been revealed to be an agent of Hydra - and he's coming after Inhumans!
S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Daisy Johnson, a.k.a. QUAKE, wants no part of Hydra, so she goes underground, teaming up with MS. MARVEL, MOON GIRL & DEVIL DINOSAUR, KARNAK and INFERNO to set things right - for the Inhumans, but also for the entire country!
Penned by rising star Matthew Rosenberg (Kingpin, Rocket Raccoon, 4 Kids Walk Into A Bank) and drawn by the immensely talented Javier Garrón (Death of X, Inhumans vs X-Men), SECRET WARRIORS is one part coming-of-age story, one part spy-thriller, all action and all heart. Don' more

Mobilized, angry, and chock full of great character moments (Karnak meeting Moon Girl will leave you snorting like a dork), Secret Warriors #1 is the right team for the right time in today's dark and divisive comics landscape. Read Full Review

Secret Warriors is one of the best things to spin out of Secret Empire so far, and it really helps flesh that story out. I honestly don’t know how someone could read one without the other. This book stands as an examination of a more intimate betrayal of trust, reminding readers that smaller stories that still have big implications are historically some of the best in Marvel history. You only need to look to the original Secret Warriors for proof. Matthew Rosenberg is solidifying himself as one of the best writers in Marvel’s stable right now, and artist Javier Garron is certainly no slouch, either. Secret Warriors #1 is on track to be the definitive Daisy Johnson story, and that’s a very, very exciting thing. Read Full Review

The series is fast and furious, and aside from the brutal nature of the fight, I like the team she's assembling and the fact that they get to be heroes. I enjoyed this issue a lot and am looking forward to future installments. Read Full Review

Secret Warriors #1 is a flashy superpowered action filled hymn of resistance against fascism from Matthew Rosenberg, Javier Garron, and Israel Silva. And it kicks off a fairly awkward assembling the team arc that isnt your typical roll-call issue of Avengers or Justice League. Read Full Review

The first issue is pretty solid and has me looking forward to this team post Secret Empire. It has some of the vibe of the original series but also a bit more light hearted style to it all, which helps eleviate the seriousnous and dour feeling of the main series. This is a team that feels like it's going to be fun and gives us heroes we can actually cheer on. Read Full Review

This is a great issue to start off the series. I'm not completely sure how this will link directly to Secret Empire, but I'm sure subsequent issues will tell. Fans of the original Secret Warriors, don't expect this one to relate much to the previous. There aren't any solid links, but this is a great story nonetheless. The plot looks promising, so we'll have to keep reading to find out what Daisy does with her new team! Read Full Review

That team consists of other Inhumans Ms. Marvel, Moon Girl and Karnak. Not that it's a bad thing, but this so far feels like another Inhuman book with a touch of S.H.I.E.L.D. thrown in because of Daisy's leadership. The team works together well, and if you're loving the current Inhumans books and Secret Empire, this should appeal to you. On the other hand, if you're not reading any of the Inhumans books or Ms. Marvel, and adding in the fact that you do need to have an understanding of Secret Empire, there's quite a large potential barrier to entry for new readers who are not “all in” on the books tied to this one. The bottom line is this is not really a good standalone read, but may be more enjoyable if you're reading the other titles in the family. Read Full Review

    IGN - Jesse Schedeen

Fans of the original Secret Warriors comic will need to keep their expectations firmly in check for Vol. 2. This new series shares little in common with its predecessor and settles for delivering a generic, slow-paced team building story. Whether as a follow-up to the original series or a companion to Secret Empire, the new Secret Warriors is a disappointment. Read Full Review
