Overall, just when this series should really be cooking, the gas runs out and the story leaves me a little cold. This issue certainly wraps up those dangling ends that were floating out there so the next three issues can be a smackdown the likes of which we've all been hankering for. I just hope Bendis and Yu pull it together and deliver, as I really don't want to read another lukewarm chapter to the adventure of the summer. Read Full Review

Secret Invasion #5 was another pedestrian read. However, it was enjoyable to see Bendis actually progression the various plotlines with a sense of purpose and direction. While this issue certainly had its fair share of warts, I still took it as a positive sign that Bendis might finally be pulling this story together for an entertaining final three issues. At this point, I dont care about Yus anorexic characters that all look the same. Hes learned how to better pace his stories, but I still dont care about his artwork. Hes part of why I dont like this series and why Im quitting this Secret Invasion thing. Now can we get back to real storytelling and stories that readers can't figure out how they will end after just reading the first issue? Read Full Review

Wow, this exact issue is very good. I literally feel the anger of Clint on the last page... It's awesome. And "Nick Fury was right" scene as well. And honestly almost all of the scenes. Not a flawless issue, but it's definitely better, than the previous one... P.S. I read this book many times, but now was the perfect time to come back to it. You all know what I'm talking about. Yeah, this "special operation" of Putin (spoiler, he was revealed as a Skrull since 2008 lol). I just see, that skrull's propaganda is literally the same that Putin uses... "We're not here to hurt you. We're here to save you". "You are at constant war" (for 8 years, yeah). "We wish no harm or bloodshed, but we'll do what must be done to save you". "You will assimi late to our ways, because they work and because you have no choice". That's what he say about the Ukraine... LITERALLY. And that's what nazis told to USSR back in 40's... It's just... I mean, IT'S ALWAYS THE SAME THING, ALWAYS THE SAME LINES, BUT SOME PEOPLE REALLY BELIEVE THIS SHIT AND THEIR LEADERS! P.P.S. I hate politics so much and I don't really want to be banned for it if there's a rule about it or something, but it's the today's reality and people dying, so I just couldn't not say something about it HERE, where it really belongs. Clint has an epic moment and the art and panel decisions are badass.
