I think this new Scarlet Witch run will be fantastic if it's anything like the first installment. Scarlet Witch #1 was an extremely strong start. The creative team really showed their talents with this. As someone that's a big Scarlet Witch fan, I can honestly say that I loved it and I can't wait to read the next issue! Read Full Review

Jacopo Camagni and Steve Orlando have captured Wanda's character wonderfully in this debut issue. Truly showcasing her ability to be calm, cool and collected until she needs to be a force of nature. This debut issue sets the stage for what seems like will be a wonderful series at Marvel Comics. Steve Orlandos taken Wanda on Mr. Toads Wild Ride, bumping and clawing with some of the whos who, and the who? And thats been one of my favorite things about his Scarlet Witch. One issue I had with the previous book was its lack in action, but Orlando came with all guns blazing. Bringing Griever along, and well be getting Lore (an alternate reality Wanda) shows Orlando wants to have Wanda go up against some of the biggest players in the Marvel universe. Hopefully this run keeps up this same energy. Read Full Review

While I would have loved to see the great foundation of last year's Scarlet Witch series run unencumbered, this relaunch proves that Wanda has plenty of story left to tell in any context. Read Full Review

Scarlet Witch #1 is very much a continuation of Steve Orlando's Scarlet Witch run, which includes the 2023 ongoing and Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver mini-series. As a fan of both, Scarlet Witch #1 does a great job at continuing Wanda Maximoff modern day development. Read Full Review

The comic is a frantic and exciting start to a superhero comic. Although it starts off a little slow, its action at the end of the issue offers a mix of emotions worthy of a comic book reader. The issue breaks expectations that the heroes always need to win and can't let anyone die, well, civilians die and the ending is quite suggestive, I can't wait to read the next issue.

The Fact that the GRIEVER used the EDGE OF REALITY just to prune/shear Wanda's Soul is just outstanding. One of the GRAND DESIGN's Primal Abstracts tried to directly kill Wanda to stop her chaos from spreading. + The Unleashing a portion of the TDH within her without CHTHON being released is a feat itself. I love this. I know that the GRIEVER will only make Wanda Stronger, and grow through her ENDLESS GROWTH/RED QUEEN HYPOTHESIS.

That's one way to restart a series. Two pretty shocking moments (though the second one obviously won't stick) and keeping Quicksilver involved are sure fire ways to maintain my interest. I really like where they are with Scarlet Witch right now, and Darcy mostly makes an enjoyable presence in the sidekick role. My only real quibble is a detail about the art. Why does she have a mole by her eye all of a sudden in this series? Ew. It's just a personal taste thing though, no big deal. Great book, lotta fun. Definitely staying on my pull list.
