Conan fans will leave the issue with a great short story that was fun, entertaining, and showed how unstoppable the barbarian truly can be. Pick this comic up and add it to your pull however the issue could be skipped because Finch doesnt tie the story into the series before or after. Next month will be another new writer, Jim Zub, who will be on the book for a while. Hopefully, Meredith Finch gave fans a great taste of whats on the horizon for this savage barbarian from Cimmeria. This one issue story won't go down as a classic but it is a great tale of intense fury and would probably make Robert E. Howard proud as Conan is pushed to his physical limitations. He's up against the odds once again and the odds are afraid. His captors are impressed and the young lady aspires to be Conan's love interest despite her father's wishes. And the final page of this story is so satisfactory as we see"nah, no spoilers read it for yourself. Read Full Review

A predictable one-shot. It's Conan so you'll like it if you like Conan. It's just not groundbreaking, or anything like that.

It is what you would expect of Conan, but I was sometimes annoyed by the way the narration covered the clearly visible events.
