Lastly, the artwork was lively for what came next. That's the one thing I like most about Kris Anka's pencils and Triona's colors. No matter how whimsical or dark things get, you aren't left forgetting that these are younger characters that we are dealing with. Despite the slow pacing, this was a good opportunity to explore the cast's flaws which were a perfect opportunity to make an excellent teen super-hero drama. This issue utilized relatable problems that would make readers feel closer to the cast, from Molly's fear and anxiety of growing up or staying young forever to Julie's frustration towards her and Karolina's relationship. The superhero-y fight from the last issue melts away into a mass of soap operatics. They are essentially flawless soap operatics, and any comics writer struggling to understand team dynamics could use this as a masterclass in the subject. The script deftly weaves consistent themes out of a variety of incremental plot developments. It's supported by quietly brilliant art throughout. Visuals and words are in perfect agreement on our protagonists' feelings, and that makes for a sublime reading experience.
