Royals #6

Ewing and Libranda have clearly done a great deal of research into the Inhumans' history and they are using all of their various past adventures to play into this one that risks the very future of their race. They are laying the groundwork for a very big pay off as the series goes along. So far, the series is paying off each issue, lets hope all these issues lead to something different and unexpected for the Royals. Read Full Review

Fantastic. Finally this Ewing series is getting good and surely thanks to Libranda's art with it's clean sharp lines combined with Villarrubia colors. Art can do wonders for a nice script.

Things are starting to fall into place for this series, although it'll require some understanding of previous Inhumans storylines to fully grasp. Ewing is laying out some great groundwork here, though it's still to be seen how good the payoff will be. Beautiful artwork by Kevin Libranda.

I've been enjoying all of the Inhumans books since the relaunch but this is the only one that really delves into the history of the Inhumans and I've been enjoying it heaps. Ewing clearly knows his stuff and his writing has been improving since this series began. The art is also great and adds a great deal to this book. If you enjoy Inhumans this is a great book to pick up.

Medusa takes Maximus to the Universal Inhumans in chains and left-field antagonists pop up at the last minute. This issue features two stellar conversations awash in a sea of pretty art (Kevin Libranda is a very welcome addition to the team) and B-plots that frankly feel like filler. I'm a huge fan of Al Ewing, but by this point I think it's pretty clear Royals is going to end up as a brilliant six-issue miniseries that's been swaddled in fluff so it fits into 12 issues without rattling. I know the "Last Inhuman" segments are eventually going to get important, but so far they've been a huge drag.
