Al Ewing, Kevin Libranda, and Javier Rodriguez bring Royals to a close with an incredible finale in issue 12. Epic in scope and cosmic beyond measure. Royals is the most mind blowing Marvel comic in years. This is the "Days of Future Past" for the Inhumans. If only it was the beginning of more to come rather than possibly the end of a five year era for these once fringe characters. Read Full Review

While an uninspiring finale, Royals #12 is good as a more general issue of the series. There are some neat reveals, Maximus gets a lot of page space, and the art holds up. I can recommend it to the Inhuman fans who have been following the series, and, hopefully, it will be a good bridge between Royals and Inhumans: Judgement Day. Read Full Review

This issue is worth reading for a die-hard Inhumans fan, but I don't see regular fans sticking around much longer if the book quality does not improve. Read Full Review

In the last half of this series Al Ewing managed to make the Inhumans interesting for the first time since Realm of Kings and Abnett and Lanning. The key to this is change, nothing is more boring than a royal family with petrified personalities, therefore a fatally ill Medusa falling in love with Gorgon was perfect. Javier Rodriguez art was beautiful. Not always a fan of Ewing or the Inhumans, but great job here.

Pretty amazing, Kirby-level stuff. Marvel, make Ewing one of your main universe architects ASAP (if he isn't already).

Present-day Maximus mindlinks with far-future Maximus and watches in horror as the Progenitor story plays out to the worst possible end. Go buy Inhumans: Judgement Day to see how the contemporary story ends! Are the Inhumans and Earth doomed? (Hint: No.) After all the wild galaxy-spanning adventures it's been on (Remember when we went to war with the Snarks for two issues? What was *that* about?), Royals closes with a dreadfully safe "Ghost of Christmas Future" scenario. Both the flowery language and the wild visuals fall into an "OK, not great" groove, and here at the end, the entire Progenitor saga looks built out of bog-standard sci-fi clichés. Al Ewing's closing letter describes Royals (at least in part) as a "eurocomix-influenced f more

What a waste of 12 issues anticipation. Very disappointing. All for nothing but a Maximus vision of what will be a What If divergence. Plus Gorgon might still be dead too. It says it was art=driven and the art could have been much better.

What the hell was that all about? Disappointing. I didn't get it at all.
