Punisher #8

I can't judge this as a Punisher fan, but as a fan of the show who wants to read Punisher comics, this was an excellent place for me to start getting into the character's comics. It doesn't hurt that this would be a really interesting story regardless of the lead character, but that it stars Frank Castle is the cherry on top of the sundae. This issue is setting up Franks hodgepodge group of prisoners and building to unleash his hell on Bagalia. This series is setting up for Frank to bring down Zemo and crew. If it continues with high profile kills this could end up being the best punisher series ever and deservedly so it’s been past high time for Frank Castle to punish the villains week in and week out.

Rosenberg on the punisher is the perfect fit. The art is really cool too. I really like how its a really long story and its essentially continuing the war machine arc and turning into a slow burn tale of zemo vs frank

I'm catching up on my Matt Rosenberg "Punisher" for an upcoming review on AiPT! and I just had to talk about this one in particular. When I read this title, I definitely do not expect a twee, cutesy prison escape story like something out of "4 Kids Walk Into A Bank." Might work on a different title, but it doesn't work for Punisher and it's a waste of time that's self-satisfied in how quirky its plan is. I appreciate Rosenberg's indie, non-traditional sensibilities--I do. That being said, this goofy prison plan is tedious.
