Punisher #228

So here we are, this arc has been excellent and we'll be heading to the next story in Franks war on crime. The major cameo in this issue was great as well as unexpected but the ending let me down a bit. I understand why it had to happen to set things up for future stories but I wasn't a fan anyway. Otherwise though this was highly enjoyable and I'm hoping Frank has more run ins with this specific antagonist. I was pulling for him as I was underwhelmed with what they did with his character in Secret Empire. Hopefully by the end of this he is fully redeemed. Read Full Review

FANTASTIC! This issue really was a great read. It was fun, which is what comic books should be. The entire arc from start to finish is amazing. See, I was never one of the people who lost their shit over the whole Hydra Captain America incident, especially since it was explained with complete transparancy after the announcement. What Rosenberg has given us here is a form of epilouge/sequel to Secret Empire. Answering the question, what has happened to the Sumpreem Commander since we know he still exists in the Marvel Universe? I also truly enjoy armored charcters; Iron Man, X-O Manowar, Prototype, and The Guyver, to name a few. So when you throw the Punisher into a suit of armor, I'm going to be all over that. The Punisher #228 looks great, and its not a bad ending. Its a little stifling for Frank, but it leaves a nice cliffhanger for the rebooted title. Plus, we do get to see Frank bust some Hydra heads, and thats nice. I can recommend this one to the Punisher devotee, but its not must-read. Read Full Review

This was a really good storyline with Frank in the War Machine armor. The battle with Tony was really cool and I just can't praise this run enough. The art is great and the writer seems to understand Frank, at least a version I see him being. Overall, this Legacy run has ended and the new run begins next month. The same writer is aboard so I definitely will follow along.

After some more fighting, manly soldier-talk from Rhodey convinces Frank to surrender himself. It's a satisfactory end of one chapter - feels like we got full value out of the Punisher War Machine premise - and the final pages promise we're headed straight into another adventure. The manly talk was excellent and the art was pretty solid. One exception was the portrayal of Ghost's powers; I found that part a bit underwhelming.
