As an addendum, I was torn on whether or not to cover this book given the Parkland school shooting last week. Cards on the table, talking about this book at all still feels like a lapse of tact. Frank Castle, though I like him, his still a hero-like character who employs arsenals of killing machines to deal with crime and evil. I dont prescribe to the good guy with the gun argument. What I tell myself to justify this review at all is that Im contributing to the wider cultural conversation about guns and the extent to which we should have the right to be armed, if only on a tiny, tiny, minute and miniscule level. Guiu Vilanova is doing a great work with the collaboration with Lee Loughridge on the colors. These two set a great theme for this comic book. Sometimes too dark but nothing that could harm the art overall.The action is very dynamic and very well made. It's bloody when it needs to be and this creative team makes it flawlessly.I'm still not a fan of the Punisher being similar to his Netflix counterpart (Jon Bernthal). I still prefer a generic face than a character in the comic that looks like an actor. Read Full Review

The one element that does need to happen to stop this from becoming stale is establishing a credible threat. Right now it is like watching someone play a video game with the cheat codes on and so far it has been fun to witness the carnage. That can only last for so long before it becomes a tad bit redundant. Based on the ending of this issue that threat has possibly emerged and should help add some tension to make this book that more enjoyable. So far this story has had the freedom and relentlessness of fan fiction matched with the talent of high quality creators making it one of comics most consistent titles these past few months. This whole story is well written, action packed and all kinds of awesome. The art is pretty great as well. Overall, one of the better books to come out of Legacy.

Frank is considerably tougher than the War Machine armor; he has to operate without it while arranging repairs. And that part's pretty glorious. Then he gets back in the armor and institutes an increasingly ridiculous campaign of terror against the dictator's lackeys. But they're bad guys. Remember that when our hero is literally tearing men in half lengthwise. I don't see a lot of creative flaws; the script is especially strong. Solid characterization and dark humor hold my interest even as the subject matter drifts away from my taste.
