Oct 28, 2026Punisher #9 delivers a mostly satisfying conclusion to the "Big Guns" story arc, even if the final showdown doesn't quite live up to its potential. The absurdity of Deadpool and Blind Al navigating Black Hole's bizarre internal operation provides the issue's best moments, while Frank Castle's War Machine armor ensures there's plenty of carnage. Jose Luis Soares and Jonas Trindade keep the action engaging, although the oversized Badpool battle feels predictable. The resolution offers a fun surprise, but Black Hole's ultimate defeat is somewhat anticlimactic. More frustrating is how little we learn about Frank, especially when the possibility of saving his family briefly comes into play. It's an entertaining finale that could have benefited from stronger character work. Read Full Review

Plot
The wild *BIG GUNS* crossover between Deadpool and the Punisher comes to a close.
Blind Al and Deadpool look for a way to escape the location where Blackhole is holding them, seeking help from Bullseye. In the process, Deadpool discovers the briefcase that activates a pocket universe—the very same one in which his daughter, Ellie, died.
When the briefcase is activated, everything Blackhole had been storing inside his body is released—right as he is about to finish off the Punisher. At that exact moment, Blackhole’s head explodes, the result of Bullseye having used the "Time Gun" five minutes earlier.
It was a somewhat rushed conclusion to an otherwise brilliant crossover, leaving many loose ends.>
Artwork
Detailed and organic, achieving a somber tone but full of detail, highlighting all the brutal violence of Punisher alongside Deadpool's exaggerated and outlandish massacres.
Summary
