If it wasn't apparent by now that Becky Cloonan and Steve Dillon were born to create a Punisher comic, issue #5 makes it abundantly clear that we are witnessing one of the strongest takes on the character to come around in a long time. Read Full Review

It's been awhile since i had so much fun reading a Punisher comic. Thanks to this great creative team that is working perfectly. Can not wait to see more developments about the relation with Olaf and Frank ( next issue!) and obviously more about Frank/Ortiz. Ortiz is mentally broke after some events of this comic. Let's wait and see the aftermath of it. Read Full Review

This story is efficiently told. The art is appropriate. Punisher looks tough. The bad guys get dead. It’s a perfectly acceptable Punisher comic book...but it just doesn’t have much meat. It’s disposable entertainment. That’s fine for a few issues, but we need something dynamic and new to happen soon or I, for one, will lose interest. Read Full Review

Best issue so far, but the story lacks depth and I couldn't care less about the Villains or DEA Agents. EMC is cool tho.

A straight-up action issue with plenty of Dillon's disturbing imagery, not a whole lot to critique.

Well, there is a ton of action, violence and gore in this issue. Classic Punisher in that sense. However, the action and violence is tempered a bit by the art, which is think is just decent or maybe just not very appropriate for this series. The art seems, maybe a bit cartoony or superheroy, whereas I'd prefer something darker/grittier for this series. Also, while not the biggest deal, the intensity of this issue (and series) is dampened by the repeated use of censored curse words (e.g., #@!%), which comes off as fairly silly in an otherwise "mature" comic. Finally, the biggest down side to this issue, and more so the series, is that the story is almost an after thought. There is no tension, no character development, no meaningful twi more

A lot of shooting not much story progression and nothing that made me want to see what happens next.
