On Comics Ground - Dwight Thomas Jr

This arc has been pretty damn good thus far but THIS single issue has raised the stock of the entire series. The twist toward the end of this issue was magnificent and set up a confrontation I hope I was wanting to see sometime ago. If the arc goes where I think it will we'll see Frank finally atone for the bad writing from Marvel not to mention his own personal biases. I can't wait to see where this goes. Read Full Review

    Punisher Central - Ivo Santos

I'm very excited for what's to come in the upcoming issue. It's the last one featuring Punisher in the War Machine suit. I'm really happy to have Rosenberg on board for the Punisher comic. He understands the character and more importantly, he knows where the character is going.I want to tell people, Punisher fans and non-fans to read this Punisher: War Machine, it's solid, great writing, good art and very entertaining. If you haven't checked in on Matthew Rosenberg's run on Punisher, you're definitely missing out. The book has evolved from its initial "Punisher plus War Machine armor" pitch by placing Frank Castle in the crosshairs of the Marvel Universe as he seeks some sort of reconciliation for his role in Secret Empire. There's just a hint of smart humor that keeps it from feeling like 1986's Cobra. And there are dribs and drabs of reveals or insightful panels that pull back the curtain on a few things that are going on in other books, or just the Marvel greater. Read Full Review

Perfect. That stuff where Punisher and Bucky were talking was great.

This was a really solid read and lot's of fun. It had some funny moments, some good character moments and I really enjoy the art. The only thing I'm surprised by is the character that they revealed in the prison cell. I thought a character that big would be featured in other books, but to see him reappear in The Punisher is really surprising, in a good way!

Cool story, art could be better. The cartoony look does not suit frank well

Frank, Natasha, and Bucky have brilliant, sassy chemistry and dive right into an anti-Hydra mission. It segues smoothly back into the "Frank vs. every other hero" story as it evolves. This issue's script is a staggering gem, but it needs stronger visual support. The low-detail art is fine for quiet restaurant snark, but it's doesn't do the "3 expert killers vs a literal mountain of supervillains" fight scenes justice. The script cruises right along, treating the art way better than it deserves and playing its plot developments close to the chest.

Without getting into spoilers this issue was hard to follow as it just jumps from one thing to the next with no explanation. The issue doesn't make sense until the second last page. This was a step back for this series but I expect the next issue to be good.
