The artwork is simply stunning! Throughout Phoenix #5, each panel feels larger than life. The artwork of the Phoenix run has been beautiful but I would say this issue is the best of the run so far. It’s exciting to finally see Jean’s rich history continue to flourish. This time in a cosmic saga. The way that Claremont envisioned her journey as Phoenix to be. This series has been consistent with the storytelling and character development. I’m excited to see where it continues to take us. Seeing Jean explore her powers and the cosmos all by herself has been refreshing. I would love to see it be drawn by Russell Dauterman, R.B. Silva or Pepe Larraz. Please Marvel… make that happen.

This rocked. Definitely my favorite issue of the series yet. The art just felt better this time around, which could possibly be made so with the addition of Renna to the art duties, but I don't know for sure. Furthermore, the story was just stronger than its been in the past, in my opinion. I loved how powerful Jean was portrayed to be here, particularly. The stuff at the beginning and the ending to her fight with Gorr were both just so good. The introduction of Thanos has me even more hopeful, as well, as I'm super interested to see the two of them go against each other. I need more issues like this one, please.
