Regular comics readers or Spider-Man readers will be able to catch up quickly. The light-hearted feeling created by the dialogue and art permeates every page, despite the heavy emotional baggage created by the plot. It's a fun read that I look forward to seeing where it goes. Read Full Review

This arc is off to a good start with threads that are just weird and intriguing enough to keep me going, and as a long time fan of the wall-crawler, this is pretty fun to see first hand as well. If you've been off the radar like me, check this one out. Just be prepared to chug through some past/future tense mix ups. Read Full Review

Thankfully, Quinones is a seasoned Zdarsky collaborator and he mostly nails this team-up of two Spider-Men, the only problem really being some clear struggles to vary up the panels a bit when Peter, JJJ and Teresa are in young Peter's room. Another amazing issue in this series. Ever since Peter revealed his secret to J. Jonah, this series has been top notch. This issue even has a new artist and its absolutely beautiful to look at. It's fun to the max and what a comic should be.

Man, this issue is a lot of fun! I have been sort of ambivalent towards Chip Zdarsky's run on this book, but when he brings it he can really bring it. This issue features Spideys of two eras come together, and the results are sweet and funny--for a lifelong Spider-Man fan like me, it really hits home. I also really liked Jonah's reaction when future Jonah tells him Spidey's identity...Zdarsky is doing a really nice job with the character. Joe Quinones is perfect for this book, his style kind of emulating Steve Ditko's in the depiction of young Pete's world. I loved the differences between young Peter and now Peter. It's not often a book is this endearing and fun. Absolutely loved it.

Cast backward to the halcyon Silver Age days of 19*cough*cough*, Peter, Teresa, and Jameson run wild with every possible time-travel shenanigan. The humor is flawless, the characterization is heartwrenching, the art is generally brilliant and specifically reminiscent of Steve Ditko. This is very close to the perfect Spider-Man time-travel story. "Ah, but," you say, "this is an alternate timeline and Spidey can't do anything in the past to save his present from the Tinkerer." Yes, true. But! Read carefully when he explains the scheme to his younger (hilariously Andrew-Garfield-looking) self. He's after "the key to beating the Tinkerer" - this is a fact-finding mission, not a direct attack on 616 Tinkerer.

The creative team weren't selling this time travel telling for me. This issue was too ethically frustrating to fully appreciate the few nostalgic details sprinkled in. Too much casual disregard for temporal traditions in the MU. And the trio from the present shamelessly prance around with disregard of the future of this alt-reality's future.
