#298 is another fine Spider-Man comic, with lots of action and continuing to build interesting aspects for the main story arc. I had a flashback to the classic animated series from the 90's, and that certainly has left me wanting more. Read Full Review

Now that Zdarsky has settled in to writing Spidey, this feels more like home. Spectacular Spidey is now in full stride. One of the most satisfying things at Marvel right now is Chip writing JJJ. Read Full Review

This series has had its ups and downs, but it's definitely getting better it seems. The art has been consistent and the story has been getting better. It still has gone on too long though. This is essentially the same story from the 1st issue.

Peter Parker escapes imprisonment with the Gray Blade, and he and Teresa slide into a splendid "on the lam in the 616" story - full of awesome guest-star connections and featuring a knockdown bridge fight. Further conflict with even bigger baddies is foreshadowed. To me, the highlight of the issue is that Adam Kubert woke up and put on his premium artist pants again; from the sixth page on, this is a visual feast. Chip Zdarsky's humor is still a little groan-inducingly dad-joke-y. It's great to get a (slightly) clearer understanding of where this arc is heading - but it feels like we should know much more after eight issues.
