• A tech-crime ring is tightening around Spider-Man.
•  If Ironheart will stop beating him up, she may be able to help him zero in on the source.
•  And who is the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent showing up at Peter's door with more info on Spidey than anyone should have?

If you are looking for a Spider-Man story that doesn't take Peter back to the basics, but also doesn't make him a millionaire with tons of unnecessary gadgets, please pick up this comic. It pulls off the combo of funny and serious really well, and the art matches the story in a way you don't see often. Read Full Review

TL;DR: A second issue as good as the first, Zdarsky and his creative team are off and running with a really fun and enjoyable Spider-Man comic! Read Full Review

Even though it enters into all out espionage plot mode, Peter Parker: Spectacular Spider-Man #2 doesn't forget the jokes and goofy sense of humor that made the first issue so great. Read Full Review

This is an interesting start, don't let my references to the amount of dialogue put you off. There is an interesting plot brewing here and the light hearted tone of the comic is refreshing when read at the same time as something like Secret Empire. Read Full Review

Spectacular Spider-man #2 might be even more enjoyable than the first issue. The characters are fully fleshed out and relatable, whether it's Peter, Johnny Storm, or Teresa. But most importantly, this book is FUN. A sharply written script and solid art team makes this the Spider-man book to read. Read Full Review

It's all secret sisters and coffee date chaos in Chip Zdarsky and Adam Kubert's light-hearted Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #2, a genuinely funny book that's a little too thick on exposition and a little too light on action to match up to the compelling first issue. Read Full Review

    Superior Spider-Talk - Cain Winstead

    Jul 23, 2017

Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man (vol. 3) #2 takes a nosedive in quality thanks to an overstuffed recap as well as some questionable character choices. Adam Kubert's art is as stellar as ever, but writer Chip Zdarsky would be wise to rein in his meta-commentary and save that for the Deadpool book he's destined to write. Read Full Review
