While it's easy to praise Lemire and Sorrentino's work on this issue, this month's MVP may just be color artist Marcelo Maiolo. The pink-purple psychic energy crackling around Jean, the dry heat of the Wasteland and the horror of reaching into the Brood's hive mind wouldn't be quite as powerful without Maiolo's touch. OLD MAN LOGAN #18 concludes the "Return to The Wastelands" storyline with a reveal that is both obvious and surprising. Jeff Lemire's utilization of other 616 Marvel characters is refreshing, and the artwork of Andrea Sorrentino and Marcelo Maiolo continues to be captivating. A simply awesome ending. Every was on point. The story of Lemire was awesome, the art of Sorrentino and the color of Maiolo was simply gorgeous. And I really do hope we get to see more of that hulk. His art is just sickening tight.

Well, that was awesome. I'm super bummed to hear that Lemire is off this series soon, but maybe even more that this is Andrea Sorrentino's last issue. That sucks. But this issue is an example of why these two creators do Logan so well, and a fitting goodbye. I can't wait to see where Sorrentino goes after this, because his artwork in this series has been a revelation. He is absolutely one of the most original, talented artists in comics.

Jean Grey is indeed responsible for Logan's nightmares. Cutting a Brood bio-widget off her neck solves all his problems - or does it? It's been quite a while since this title was great; Andrea Sorrentino's stylish violence can only sustain us for so long without some stronger story development. This arc stretched the plot of one semi-busy issue out into three issues, and there aren't enough stylish double spreads in the world to make me think that's okay.
