Comics: The Gathering - Charles Martin
Mar 21, 2018As Gabe says, "This is Jersey City. We get weird chemical explosions and dinosaurs, like, every other week." Satisfying as this particular explosion-and-dinosaur fest is, it brings this arc to a close by giving Kamala just the gentlest of forward nudges in terms of character development. Previous issues laid the groundwork for a more ambitious leap, so closing with a bunny hop feels a tiny bit anticlimactic. My quibbles are minor, though, and it's definitely a pleasure to have Kamala back. Read Full Review

With two weeks late, I have the pleasure to finish Teenage Wasteland arc. That a awesome Wislow's arc where the support Character take the spot. So maybe this end is a little to quick, and Maybe the answer behind Kamala absence was too simple. Maybe Kamala & Carole make up was easy (At least Wislow didn't forget Civil War II & there consequences). This was a good issue closing a awesome arc (Yeah I already tell this). That bring me back to Ms.Marvel & I miss her so much. Cover - 2/2 I find it very tied up to what I read. Writing - 2.5/3 Not perfect, but very fun. Arts - 3/3 Nico make all character pretty sweet (Even Carol). In fact I would have read a title with Carol by those two ^^ Sentiment - Happy to be back ... 2/2

With this putting an end to the Teenage Wasteland story I expected a little more action to The Inventor final conflict. It makes sense that Ms Marvel and Captain Marvel would be able to handle him so it is a minor gripe that could be overlooked. The thing that Wilson does well is emotion and the reuniting of Carol and Kamala for the first time after they disagreed on the predictive justice is handled very well. I am a little unsure how I felt about The Inventor's creations having a Power Ranger/Voltron moment at the end, but it seemed like a nod to something that Kamala would be a big fan of. It also made her return a bit more necessary since her embiggening power would be easier to fight it. The animated art for the series is nothing new. more

Kamala has grown before our eyes and it'll be interesting to see where she goes from here...the Inventor has never been more bombastic.

Kamala comes back, the Inventor is foiled, and there's even (barely) space for a Cap'n Marvel/Ms. Marvel reconciliation. Everything that makes it onto the page here is pretty solid, but I think Kamala got shortchanged in the rush to wrap this story up. Even having her deliver narrative captions over most of the issue doesn't do enough to examine her decision to run away and then return. Going shallow on those key points renders the whole story slightly unsatisfying. I think this story REALLY needed another issue's worth of space.
