Yeah I agree. The first few pages were really sweet but that last fight was just lousy.

AIPT - Alyssa Jackson
Apr 19, 2017Outside of the main villain storyline, I'm so happy we got some great character movement throughout this arc. Zoe's transformation has been wonderful to watch, and her conversation with Nakia in the last issue was beautifully handled. And I'll admit that my heart gave a little leap when I realized that Kamala was calling Bruno, and the cover for next month's issue has me very excited for potentially reuniting this friendship. Apr 28, 2017Miyazawa and Herring's art style together is unique and has become synonymous with the feeling and joy of Ms. Marvel. The dialog stays funny and reference filled, while still delivering the moral you'd expect: every now and then, it pays to just be nice. Not because you always win, but because you have to fight cruelty when you see it. It is a great message in a time when comics about superheroes who are genuinely super seem in short supply. However, we got amazing art and the scene at the beginning with Zoe and the school will tug on any reader's heartstrings. This is still an amazing book and one well worth buying. Kamala beats the Doc.X virus by counter-infecting it with positive vibes. While it's a trite, cheesy victory, it's harnessed to a gut punch of glorious compassion at the start that rendered me completely non-objective. It's a total melt-your-heart Fall-In-Love Moment, and it serves as a reminder of just how powerfully a comic can speak to you. Regardless of what comes after, the first four pages of this comic are unqualified, undeniable awesomeness. I would give them 10/10 on their own; I would give them 8/10 harnessed to the worst comic in the world. An optimistic, slightly naive "beat the sentient computer virus with the power of love" story is no real burden for this brilliant opening to bear.

Aaaw, such a sweet turn of events! Talk about a positive, fun comic with a topical message. Ms. Marvel is always a great read, but the opening scene was something truly special.

I would have given it a lower score if not for the opening scene. It was so great to see everyone come together in form of support.The art of Miyagawa and Herring is perfect as always it was just the ending that was lacking. But I'm glad to see a usual face is making a re-appearance.

Hmm... Ms. Marvel is usually one my favorite books from Marvel, but I thought the resolution was a little weak here. Doc.x' defeat didn't make too much sense to me, personally. The beginning with everyone coming together in the hallway was pretty great, however, and easily the highlight of the book for me.

This was a great arc with a not-so-great finale. For all the threat that was built over the last 4 issues, it is dismissed by...playing nice? It takes a complex idea and over-simplifies it. But oh well. Still looked great.

A lot of interesting things came about in this small story arc, so I think it deserves some credit. The ending seemed a bit forced and not very thought out. Sure you have to apply some suspension of disbelief when reading comics, but it didn't make a whole lot of sense. Even if they were able to reprogram the virus, having Kamala punch it out of existence is a little strange. That said the real focus should be on Zoe's arc and how we should be treating others and that is where the story really shines anyway. The characters are always what make the stories in Ms Marvel great and this one is no different.
