Great issue! First I love that Thompson and Bazaldua pay homage to Rogue's old outfits and her comic history. That's something we see a lot throughout the comic. Second, I think Gambit finding a baby as his item to steal making it interesting and shows a different side to a classic villain.I'm really excited to see how this arc wraps up! Read Full Review

Great writing that really delves into, and captures, the essence of fan-favorite characters and serves as a constant reminder of why we're so taken by the infectious charm of Gambit and Rogue. Ditto for the art that keeps the reader invested in the story by playing a shell game with the action amidst the character growth. A straight up solid, fun-filled issue that works in excellent fashion as a jumping-on point too. This book deserves the same and love and support from comic fans that it showers on all things X-Men. This was a much better issue than the last. Kelly Thompson's strong suit is character and that's what this issue is all about.

Gambit thieves and Spiral fights while Rogue dives into her memories. She comes up with a very simple explanation for her power control issues. Simplicity doesn't stop it from being logical and satisfying. Giving Rogue's introspective journey the lion's share of panel space is actually great for the Gambit and Spiral stories; brevity sharpens them to formidable points. Wrap it all up in some clean, powerful art (and give it a notable absence of Mojo!) and you've got a comic I'm eager to read and to call good.

THE GOOD: -Oscar Bazaldua's art has improved a lot. The faces are still bad, but the action scenes look nice at least. -I do love these characters and they're written very well. -The opening scene here was just great. -I liked Rogue revisiting her past. It was a good storyline for one issue. THE BAD: -I did get bored with this issue, when it got it bit wordier towards the middle. -I dunno. Spiral was never my favorite. She's just so uninteresting here.

I hate it when a character that has been around for decades is drawn as a teenager for no good reason. And that's what happens with Rogue on this series. I was really bothered by this earlier on the series, but this was the issue in which this hit me worst, because it's all about Rogue's maturity, and when I look at the art I see the face of a 16 year old.
