Marvel's Voices: Legacy (2022) #1is a solid celebration of the House of Idea's Black heroes, though it could have involved more creators behind the scenes. With a collection of great stories and features including the history of Monica Rambeau and an interview with artist Brian Stelfreeze, as well as an intro from Karama Horne, this is a comic made for Black nerds by Black nerds. Briton “fuck those other races” and Merl “ shil of the incels” keep living the dream. What remarkable times we live in. Issue gets a 10 for uncovering the stain in the sheets.

In the latest Voices anthology, the single-page strips run a narrow gamut from acceptable to forgettable. The longer strips, though, are uniformly good. A wide array of strong art styles are represented, and most have fully-formed stories, good character work, and a fair amount of humor. The Shuri and Moon Girl strips are my personal faves.

I'm so far behind, these user reviews include bigots! I really do wish these anthologies were handled with a bit more care, as I feel like these stories really aren't top tier. It's nothing terribly bad, but there's not much to say about it. I would just consider it dull.
