If I have any criticism at all it relates to the actual cover of the book. The cover art by Art Adams is awesome but the spacing of the text and informational trade dressing feels cluttered. That being said, it's a minor gripe and I thoroughly enjoyed this first issue. If the rest of the issues are as strong as this one readers are in for a treat! Read Full Review

    AIPT - David Brooke

A good collection of stories that should scratch your Cap, Namor, and Wolverine itch. Soule delivers a first part Wolverine story you'll want to come back for, and the format is compelling since you get a grab bag of superhero storytelling. I can't think of a better way to celebrate Marvel's 80th anniversary. Read Full Review

In a short story collection, I expect some installments to be better than others, but all of these were just average. The visuals were also just average. Nothing in this really stood out as outstanding. I'll skim the next issue when it comes out to decide if I'll purchase it. If it reads or looks like this premiere, I'm one and done with the new Marvel Comics Presents. Read Full Review

For the 80th anniversary of the company, Marvel has once again revived the anthology series that bears the company's name. It's a mixed bag, with two of the three stories focusing on the Second World War. Read Full Review

There are flashes of genius in this book - Pak and Coker's Sub-Mariner story proves that definitively - but this anthology will never get to that point without more risk. Read Full Review

All in all, this debut issue of Marvel Comics Presents was a little mediocre. The art was fantastic in the first two stories but it wasn’t enough to get me too excited for future issues unfortunately. Read Full Review
