KORVAC is on the loose and Tony Stark is on the hook for it. Iron Man and Hellcat were lucky to survive their first encounter with Korvac and his new disciples, but finding him and stopping him is proving an even greater challenge. Tony is reticent to let other hero allies in on the fact that he opened up a giant can of worms all on his own, but it might be a moot point given that Korvac has placed Tony under a very clever and threatening gag order. As Korvac powers down all of New York City in order to try and again go cosmic, Tony's forced to turn to lesser-known colleagues on the fringe in order to stop him. One advantage he has: Hellcat i more

But Why Tho? - William Tucker

Iron Man #4 is a beautiful issue. Theres a small cast of characters, heroes in particular, and Cantwell makes the reader feel for them both. Korvac is a terrifying villain, and the plans he has for the future are cosmic in their potential. Tony and Patsy will not be able to face him alone Read Full Review

Much like chess, Iron Man is now a hero with finite and distinct resources which hasn't been the case for some time. He's a hero who is growing to discover himself while also discovering something new with Patsy Walker. All the while, an old villain wants to destroy him forever, but ain't that the Stark luck? Iron Man #4 continues to trend the character upward and onward for those looking for a more human Tony Stark. Read Full Review

Cafu does a great job with the art. The issue is very character focused so the art reflects it in great close up moments with the characters and details that give an intimacy to the imagery. A great looking issue. Read Full Review

Big Comic Page - Jonathan Mullen

This is another really good issue which focuses on this books two key strengths, character and mood. Cantwell has spent the last three issues making us care about Tony and Patsy, and now as we start to reach the end of this act of the story, the characters themselves, rather than the action, take focus for an issue which is something I absolutely applaud. You dont need massive fights to make a comic worth reading and this book is absolutely worth reading. With Cantwell, CAFU and DArmata bringing their usual A game for this issue, its another easy recommendation. This series consistently breaks the high standards it sets for itself, and this latest issue is no exception. Read Full Review

When Slott left the title I was very disappointed. Christopher Cantwell has put those fears to rest. Cantwell is obviously planning a long running story here. Read Full Review

Cantwell has failed to tell a coherent story throughout four issues. Telling the story about the man without the money and armor is just something we dont need. Im reading Iron Man, I want Iron Man. I want the armor, the money, the snark. Fun aspects of Tony Starks Iron Man. Cantwell seems to be incapable of creating that story. Read Full Review

Tony and Patsy came out of left field. They gave off friend vibes. The city's power all shutting down was suspenseful. Korvac's ascension is upon us! Rhodey's willpower is on full display against the Controller. Love that. Hang in there buddy, Tony's coming. Hellcat is linked. What could this could mean for her in later issues? I wonder who Tony will enlist on his low-key team.

Not sure if I like Patsy and Tony hooking up, but I guess the only way to cut tension is with a penis. Aside from that possible misstep, this was a great issue. The art is great. The pacing is slower, but I enjoy the way Cantwell writes these characters.

Korvac grinds ahead on his "ascend to godhood" plan, having captured Rhodey in between issues. Meanwhile, Tony and Patsy are too busy resolving their weakly-foreshadowed sexual tension to make much progress against the baddy. I still like this volume's storytelling, but I begin to doubt the quality of the actual content being conveyed. It is extremely hard for an author to predict how many plot-dots a reader will be comfortable connecting on her own and I think this issue edged past the line for me. Also, big tone shift: Note how we went from tons of Tony monologue to NONE in this issue? Feels like an over-correction at best.

It's enjoyable, has great dialogue and the art is fantastic but I'm not sure why I'm not 100% invested in this Korvac plot. We'll see where Cantwell goes.

Getting a little better. Villains coming off as a bad version of Ultron to me but Hellcat was portrayed in a much better light this issue. Adding a layer to her character made her not so one note and surprisingly she was my favorite part of this issue

Ehh. This series needs to get going. I like the idea of what this series is trying to be but the execution seems off. Half the issues have been him and Patsy just talking. Its becoming over redundant instead of making the villain seem really important.
