Iron Fist #74 delivers a strong second chapter for the "Sabertooth: Round Two" story arc. Ed Brisson and Mike Perkins continue to do a fantastic job playing up Iron Fist and Sabertooth's unique dynamic. Their dynamic is helped by the strong development of the villains of the story, Choshin and the new Constrictor. This all comes together for a comic that continues be one of Marvel's best comic books and one that fans martial arts genre will not want to miss out on. Read Full Review

Sabretooth's characterization, the bar fight art and Danny Rand/ Victor Creed dynamic, really shine in this issue. Given the overall plot that is developing, I really hope that Sabretooth plays a bigger role similar to how the Immortal Weapons appeared throughout the 2007 run. Read Full Review

Iron Fist is a good comic, but it's not really capturing my attention on a personal level. That's entirely on me. The creative team is at least having fun with the Marvel Universe in their storytelling. Read Full Review

Ed Brisson and Mike Perkins continue their terrific run on IRON FIST with issue #74. If you are not, already, a fan of Iron Fist, then the current run (and the last two issues,in particular) will make you a fan. It's just too damn fun not to. SCORE: 8.1

Iron Fist continues to impress! The art in this book is some of my favorite work out today. The story has been building since issue #1 and that's not a bad thing at all. It's building a good thing for Iron Fist and that ending leaves a wild brawl coming for next issue.

Sabretooth and Danny track down the fake Constrictor and Choshin's crew rolls up just in time to set the stage for a three-way battle royale next issue. Ed Brisson's script is brisk but shallow, and Mike Perkins's art is overstuffed with heavy shadows and too-realistic faces (and disturbingly small hands). Dialogue tags are absolutely essential to figuring out who's who, and that's never a good thing. While this issue has plenty of action, none of it is lent memorability by the way it's drawn; what we end up with is violent noise that drops into the background and gets forgotten pretty much instantly. This is a serviceable popcorn comic whose creators absolutely refuse to turn it into anything more.
