The Invincible Iron Man #8is a really great comic, tying into the wider Marvel Universe in ways that signify the book's importance, while not losing it's main star amidst a slow but well done integration into the "Fall of X." Overall, this continues to be Duggan's strongest Marvel title on the stands with high flying action and great art. Read Full Review

Its fun to watch Stark launch himself selflessly into a situation in hopes of saving the day while making things that much more difficult for himself. Stark hasnt always come across in such a heroic light. Duggan and company give Stark some altruistic weight to fling around the page, and he does so in a suitably heroic fashion with moments of genuinely fun action and some very cleverly-rendered emotional complexity.  Read Full Review

The Invincible Iron Man #8 delivers heaps of armored action, but the plot suffers from half-measures by acting as an ad hoc tie-in to the events of Krakoa and the Hellfire Gala without fully committing to the tie-in. Duggan has done it. I’m now jumping on the Tony/Emma ship. They’re giving serious power couple energy and I’m loving it. Tony’s inner world referencing Deliverance (one of the best IM issues) was amazing. Feilong is still a compelling bastard you want to see get punched in the fast This is one of the strongest issues in this run. I really hope Tony x Emma continues to be this well written

I have to say this has been such a fantastic week! I had 12 books in my pull list and have loved pretty much every single one! This vol of iron man has been tremendous and it certainly doesn't let up here. This was probably my favorite issue of this volume so far! My only complaint is I ran out of pages when I reached the back cover lol. I can't wait for the next chapter this is fantastic

This series continues to be the best it's been. Frigeri delivers nice art once again and Duggan is writing a very compelling story here. He's done a great job of writing Tony so far, in my opinion. These last two issues, especially, have done a very effective job of making me care about his character. I'm hoping this level of quality continues, as I've really been enjoying this despite Iron Man never really being one of my favorite characters. I've always liked him, but I just would have never considered him a favorite.

When I set aside my big-picture grumbles about this title turning into an appendix to the author's X-Men shenanigans, I find it pretty enjoyable. The art is powerful and visceral, and the writing is engaging (when Tony's not doing his stupid autobiography narration). By reading ahead in other titles, I spoilered myself about the changes in the Emma Frost/Tony Stark relationship. I was dubious looking at it in hindsight, but now that I'm reading it from the start, I think it's a very interesting development.
