I love this book and can't wait to read the next issue already. Chip Zdarsky brings the action, the character moments and the clever twists without making you wait for six issues to get them. Editor's notes remark about this building off a recent Avengers arc, but prior reading is unnecessary as Zdarsky puts the work into showing what the team was like in wartime compared to now they're at odds, and in demonstrating the mental effects it can have on one's psyche. Read Full Review

They really don't write 'em like this anymore. It takes a strong talent to put a fresh spin on old material without deviating from the source material and our creative team does it with flying colors. I never thought an Invaders title, which I only slightly enjoyed during the original run, could catch my attention and hold it like this has. Our heroes battle inner conflict as well as an outward enemy and we're left wanting more as this story progresses. Loyalties will be tested and friendships strained, perhaps to the point of no return. Cap, Bucky, and the OG Torch ferret out more of Namor's present-day plans. Wartime flashbacks continue to illuminate and complicate the story. The prose is decent, as is the art, on average (some highs and lows). The plot is the real draw here; it's an outstanding spy-thriller tale that is enough to hold my attention all by itself.
