As in many mini-series, especially those leading up to a larger event, there is a lull in the center of the story where pieces must be moved into place, stories must be sorted, plots must be plotted. Something isn't clicking here for me. Maybe it's the story. Maybe it's the art. The combination, absolutely. There's glimpses of excellence but that's mired in choices that don't quite work. The fact we know more is to come this summer makes all of this feel even more like a prequel book, an early chapter that is dragging things out a bit too much. Read Full Review

Infinity Countdown #4 brings the Guardians story to a grinding halt while making you wonder why anyone likes these characters. The Warlock and Silver Surfer half is better in both story and art, but it doesn't make up for the waste of time the rest of the comic is. The mainline Infinity Countdown series has been underwhelming since #1, so this is a bad issue in an underperforming series. I can't recommend it. Give it a pass. Read Full Review

This was even more fun than the last issue which fortunately increased my interest to pick up the last issue that is coming up. Gerry Duggan continues to write fun stories. Aaron Kuder and Mike Hawthorne's art were so much better and consistent in this issue but the standout here is Jordie Bellaire. His colouring in this book is mind blowingly amazing! Loved it. One thing though, maybe the reason why i am loosing mood in this Infinity Countdown series is not because of the creative team, i think it is because of the characters they write. I have a big respect to the Guardians of the Galaxy, but i just feel like they arent as much fun and insteresting as they are in the movies. I occasionally find myself forcing to read their dialogues th at was written for them and i just find some of their behaviour very annoying and childish. Even the Nova Corps are very boring unlike before. I feel like they are just random dudes wearing the Nova suit and holding a gun, and i hope Marvel Comics fixes this in the future. So overall, a fun and solid issue with consistent art and awesome colouring. more

Slightly slower than the last issue, but still quite a lot happened. Especially for one character...oh boy. Can Duggan take over the Marvel cosmic?

Good issue but somehow some of the events didn't resonate well with me. Great art from Hawthorne and Kuder but the narrative felt disjointed still. I'm on board and waiting for the Infinity watch. I just wished this was given time to breath. It's obvious (as has been known for a while now) this would have been told in multiple issues but GOTG was cancelled so events had to be crammed in the Countdown. Duggan is still doing as best as possible.

Still a decent series, but it's quickly losing its steam. Hopefully the main series has a stronger delivery and consistency than this, or it will be a disappointment.

This was an average comic book, with inconsistent art and a kind of meandering plot. I was surprised about the reveal at the end, which was cool and will have me back for the next issue. So there you go.

The Guardians break for a little planning and bickering while Warlock, Surfer, and Galactus fight a good fight against Ultron. I'm torn by the outcome and what it does to Big G. It's a very satisfying resolution to this story, but it burns some bridges that didn't need to be burned. This issue's art was also problematic for me; it seems to be sliding from good-weird to weird-weird.

Welcome to the Oblivion Bar where the first round is on me and the pretzels are free! Be warned: like the pickled eggs at the bar, this issue is going to get SPOILED rotten. I normally don't like to start off a review negative but this part really stuck out to me. In comics, I'm a story guy through and through. To me, that's where you get points. Story over art. I'm sorry artists but that's just me. That said; the art is still vital to the story. It's the foundation of your building. It's the drummer in a band, which I can say because I was in many bands growing up. As a set drummer, you keep the rhythm, the balance, the structure, and without the drummer, the song is just ok.... for example acoustic songs!!! Anyway, the art normally comes after that for me. The story sells. The story gets the girls/ boys. The story makes the money. But if your drummer sucks, you suck! And if the art is so bad it takes away from my desire to want to finish the issue, that's pretty bad and effects the story. I did not like the art in the issue at all. It seemed rushed and thrown together, especially in the beginning. Rocket looked like a rabbit without a soul and people looked like paint blotches in the background. If I'm wrong in that assumption and it's a style choice, than I apologize but then I'm not a fan of this "style". Maybe it's because I was reading Doc Strange right before this and saw such amazing art, as well as Immortal Hulk.... I don't know, but I was truly not a fan of the art in this one. The Galactus parts were pretty good. But that's it. And I feel like it brought the issue down for me. As for the story, the GoG heads back to Nowhere with the Power Stone. Nova wants to take the stone and use it to help find and save his brother, who is a Raptor now. Gamora won't let him take it and says they should collect them all, kind of like Pokémon Cards, and reform the Infinity Watch. For those that don't know, the Infinity Watch was something Adam Warlock formed after defeating Thanos in the Infinity Gauntlet. The stones were spaced out one amongst each person to wield. So, what Gamora is talking about is doing that same thing again. So, the GoG fight over who is to hold the stone until Drax comes in with his sax and just takes it. Next, Quill is asked by Cosmo the space dog to go talk to the Collector and the Grandmaster. Turns out, they have a reality stone that doesn't work. Well, we quickly find out that it doesn't work because it's from another dimension. And if you learned anything from Hickman's run about the Infinity Stones, each reality/ multiverse has its own Stones and they only work in that reality/ multiverse. Point is; there stone won't work in our reality.... and someone named Phyla comes and takes it from them. We then jump to Pym-tron fighting with Adam Warlock. Warlock is trying to stop all the missiles from destroying worlds all over the universe but there is too many of them for him to stop. That's ok because the Silver Surfer comes back with Galactus and he lays waste to the entire planet. Galactus was the Lifebringer and was reluctant to help. But now, he's back to being the destroyer of worlds with the Surfer as his herald. Norrin made a deal to help save millions. He would have Galactus destroy Pym-tron and the planet if he would become his herald afterwards. The parts with Galactus were amazing. The art in those parts were also not that bad. But the art from around page 9-21 was awful. The entire second part was a really good and interesting story as a whole but the entire part with the GoG was really boring, uninteresting, not funny, had terrible art that looked rushed, and didn't progress the story at all. I don't know anything more about these stones after 4 issues. I know who has the stones and I know Galactus is back. That's it. You could have opened with that in two pages. We wouldn't need four issues to tell me that. I think this issue left me more frustrated than anything for this event. I was excited when the last issue ended. It was funny and interesting and left me thinking we would be getting answers. I leave this issue feeling the total opposite way. I was very down after this reading. It's not what I waited & I was very disappointed. But I didn't like issue but liked the 2 & 3 issue. So I hope the last issue will be great ! Cover - I take the connected variant. And it's fine & connected ^^ 2/2 Writing - I find it weird. The only part I like was Ryder call up for a there future going right next to this instant for going smack the Raptor with the infinity stone ^^ 1/3 Arts - The art isn't perfect and raise many question (Like what happen at the end with Galactus). 2/3 Feeling - I didn't like it. 0/2
