"Heroes encounter representations of each other's worst selves and the bonds of trust between them are horribly broken" is by no means a new story, but Gillen & Werneck's take on it is so vibrant and effective that it *feels* new. And although resurrection was the most brilliant and elegant innovation of the Hickman era, this feels like exactly the right time in the broader story of Krakoa to end the honeymoon and swathe the mutants' immortality in discomfort and paranoia. Werneck does wonderfully communicative work, especially in the scene where Storm confronts Destiny.
I really do adore this series.

The x-books continue to be bigger and better than everything else in my opinion and I wouldn't have it any other way. I loved this

I love Ororo but Emma is right. Ororo has no right judging from a position where she was not corrupted.

I don't think I'll ever get tired of the politics of Immortal X-Men. The quiet council has been one of the most compelling aspects of the Krakoan era to me and a big part of what has separated it from every other X-era to date. I will be extremely sad to say goodbye to Krakoa when Fall of X hits... but I will always be immensely grateful that we got these stories in the first place. Thank you Jonathan Hickman for your brilliant, brilliant mind, and to all of these other writers for fleshing out his vision and carrying the torch since his departure.

The fallout of Sins of Sinister is felt strongly here, and Gillen writes another great issue with this one. My favorite part of this had to be Storm and Emma's conversation, where Emma basically calls out Storm for not noticing anything being wrong five years into the timeline after she had come down on Charles, Exodus, Hope, and Emma. Colossus being Storm's proxy on the council is intriguing and I'm interested to see how this will (most likely) impact the events of the next issue, assuming it'll be the Colossus-centered one of the series.

What a great read this was! I can't wait for Ewing to tackle some more Ororo business and go into the incoming fireworks. Great setup and I hope Fall of X delivers. This has been the best book since HOX/POX along with RED. Werneck delivers some mighty damn fine art here too, I do declare ;)

Storm is trying to patch up the Quiet Council in the aftermath of Sins of Sinister, mainly with harsh words and frowny faces (and some judiciously-applied lightning, too). It's fascinating stuff, and the storytelling is top notch--plenty of sharp words and cool panels (and so much big big hair).
But it is a *lot* of wheeling and dealing to swallow. It's interesting and future issues will doubtless prove its importance, but this issue is jammed with so much content that it falls a little shy of greatness.

After all that's going on as we end one event,"Sins of Sinister", and are starting to build for the next one, "The Fall of X", this issue was decidedly refreshing. What a treat it was to see Storm "let her hair down" as she participates in a first date w/Craig Marshall - a first date that was abruptly ended by a mental call from Xavier, asking to discuss Magneto's recent death! That whole exchange between Storm and Xavier was intense, and the way it ended was spot on! You go, Ororo! Perfect issue for someone looking for something that was not event -centric! #recommended!

I skipped most of Sins of Sinister so it's just a little bit of a jarring return to the series. I think it has potential to tell good things coming from the event.

This was OK overall, but continues Gillen trends, dogging Xavier and championing pet characters Hope and Emma.
There is this weird trend in lettering where "God" is not capitalized. If you're referring to the Jewish/Christian/Muslim deity, then it's "God", it is a name and thus a proper noun. Just like "Zeus" would be capitalized or other proper names like "Buddha".
To say, "Oh my god" is just grammatically incorrect. If you don't believe in Jewish/Christian/Muslim God then don't invoke Him.
It's now how our language works unless we want to start talking about "xavier", "emma" and "nightcrawler".
Yet, for some reason, "Goddess" is capitalized. . .
This is a trend in recent X-comics so I assumed this is an editorial thing
and not a letterer thing. more

Lots and lots of conversations. They weren’t particularly interesting to read. The end reveal wasn’t shocking or surprising, but it was an entire page. I see others liked this a lot, but I was fairly bored.
