Heroes Reborn: Weapon X & Final Flight is an interesting tie-in thanks to the notes on where heroes we know and love have gone. It also makes it quite clear the Squadron Supreme is bad news. In the end, its Sasquatch who breaks away and offers the Alpha Flight a way out. Nevertheless, the price is steep. So, before all the necessary killing is done, another classic hero suffers a gruesome end at the hands of Americas Squadron Supreme. Read Full Review

Some parts of the story are less impactful than they might have been otherwise with lackluster redesigns for Final Flight and workmanlike action sequences; Weapon X & Final Flight remains one of the more consistently engaging quick takes in this Avengers event. Read Full Review

There is no hope of success, which appears to be intentional by Brisson. This has been done well in other stories, such as Star Wars: Rogue One or in the Masters of Evil tie-in to House of M.But in these stories, there are brief moments of light or positivity, not an endless barrage of misery. The art isnt nice to look at either and the reader may be left deflated after finishing this book. Read Full Review

Oh man... this depiction of Weapon X and Department H is the most heartbreaking I've ever seen. Because of some ultranationalist's programming, Canada becomes a war zone. The usually evil Weapon X come out pretty decently, the calamity really did bring out the best in them. And let's not forget how this warlike scenario affects everyone in this scenario. Just when you think people can win, it just gets worse. If you ever thought the Squadron was Sinister before, this might make you think otherwise.

This issue was meh. Very much been there, done that. Alpha Flight is the third 'Suicide Squad' like team we've gotten int this event. Logan's journey is interesting but the rest of the cast doesn't have the time to distinguish themselves. Aurora has the same backstory as the Silver Witch, for example. There's still enjoyability here, but I wouldn't go out of your way for it.

I'm mixed on this one. Parts of it were cool and yet, I've seen parts of it a million times before. I guess clichés are harder to avoid when you've only got one slightly-oversized issue to tell your story. I'm always a fan of endings like this one, because I'm a sadist.

Logan and Alpha Flight fight a hopeless battle against the Squadron in the ruins of Canada. It's a decent vengeance/betrayal script, reaching at least action movie levels of quality. The art's damned hard on the eyes, though. And I couldn't get past the fact that Hyperion's resurrection went unexplained. I THOUGHT "the dead stay dead" was a core tenet of this AU, but I guess the narrative needs of the moment outweigh internal consistency. (I'm sure that Coulson just blipped him back with his Hell-Cube but c'mon, at least SHOW us.)

I didn't care for this at all unfortunately. I can't stand these squadron supreme characters I've always disliked them personally. I only bought this because of Logan but I felt even he was off in this one. I really don't like giving scores this low I just didn't care for this one. I do hope others enjoyed it more than I did
