As for the backup story, Jed Mackay handles these 5-pages extremely well. Additionally, I think it's safe to believe Mackay would do a phenomenal job writing Nick Fury and other super-spies in action if given the future opportunity. I was initially a bit skeptical in thinking there could be enough story with only five pages but theres an interesting anecdote in the making here. I might get the rest of the Infinite Destinies books just to get the other parts of Infinite Fury. This is truly what a backup story is supposed to do people. Read Full Review

The people who rated this poorly don't know how to have fun. I genuinely look at the rant by daspidaboy and wonder what the fuck his thought process must be like, because there's no hint that he even recognizes this issue was going for jokes, or that he understands what the idea behind this annual event is. I'll give you a hint. Six out of eight issues in, this isn't a huge crossover event. It's a bunch of stand-alone stories that reintroduce the infinity stones. I don't know. You can't be a comic book fan, and then get mad when they're silly. That's just part of comics, get over it. I enjoy this sort of irreverence.

Ewing is a great writer. The humor landed so well for me. I skipped all the other event annuals and picked this up because I follow GOTG and had very low exceptions. Ewing blew them out of the water. Hilarious stuff! Flaviano is the perfect fit for this. The poses and expression in some scenes were tremendous. I need more of these 2 knuckleheads in GOTG and I wish Flaviano does an arc too.

Meet the Prince of Power, the rock-stupid yet strangely charming Hercules knockoff! Born a hapless schmuck on Planet He-Man, everything changed when he swallowed the Power Stone -- literally, in that he blew the entire place up not long after. This is absolute Looney Tunes. But the goofiness is invested with a lot of gags that (subjectively, at least) work well, and there's a glimmer of pathos underneath that gives PoP his endearing appeal. Plus, the B-Strip is absolutely gorgeous and delivers a great plot development.

This is a crossover event that features multiple heroes, and the majority of this event are people..... TALKING for 90 percent of the issue. This event literally does not need to happen at all, the dialogue is bland, the art style is mediocre, the characters are bad, and the pacing Is sluggish. I am not trying to say if DC is better than Marvel, but say what you want about Tynion's Batman, at LEAST he can hire great artist and there is at least great fight choreography in his Batman run. His recent Batman issue was pretty bad, but at least it doesn't have a huge exposition load in your face compared to this atrocious issue. Literally, this whole fight was a Younger prime talking about pure exposition dialogue that is bland, and his b ackstory isn't that interesting. This issue ends with the Younger Prince TOUCHING Hercules and he automatically beats the villain. If this is a regular series then I would be fine. But this is a CROSSOVER event, I expect more creativity and effort in how the hero beats the villain in this event. Jesus Christ, I'm only excited for Sinister War, Dark Ages, and X-Men: Inferno. more

See, I read Immortal Hulk and I'm in awe of Ewing. I read this and I'm ashamed for him. That's the problem with Ewing, he can write some great stories and he can indulge himself in some pretty weird and stupid stories. This is the latter. Just atrocious.
