Word Of The Nerd - Cat Wyatt

    Feb 20, 2020

Ghost-Spider #7 was a fascinating read, one that brought two new characters to the forefront, alongside an old antagonist to counter their appearance. I, for one, am insanely excited to see where this goes. The whole new plot is balanced out nicely by the new harmony that Gwen seems to have found in her own life. Read Full Review

    Comic Watch - Mike Eakins

Seanan McGuire continues to develop Gwen into a character that has the right blend of mystery, humor and attaches to readers with ease. The introduction of the Storms and The Maker has sent this book to another fantastic level of entertainment. In true McGuire fashion, there are so many questions filled with anticipation and intrigue going into the next issue, and I wouldnt have it another way. Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff

    Feb 19, 2020

After spending the bulk of the first half of the first year of this series establishing Gwens new life, McGuire is now allowing herself to begin to explore more of the realm of Earth 65 in a fun, little mutation of classic characters. The reimagining works well as it gives McGuire further opportunity to explore not only what makes this Gwen so interesting, but also what makes the world she comes from so unique.  Read Full Review

Ghost-Spider #7 is a good build-up issue that has me very intrigued to learn more about this world's version of the famous Storm siblings. Read Full Review

Weird Science Marvel Comics - Archer of The Asylum

Seanan McGuire's status as a Hugo, Nebula, and Locus award winner is fully shown with the Ghost-Spider series. And combined with the beautiful artwork of Ig Guara you can't go wrong. The pacing is bordering on a breakneck and it's all so human that whilst completely fantastical it never really feels too far out of the realms of the possible. Read Full Review

    Razorfine - Alan Rapp

    Feb 27, 2020

Is this the beginning of a Fantastic Four in Gwen's world? And if so, will the Storms follow The Thinker down a dark path? Also, with Gwen being distracted by the sudden appearance of the Storms, what else has she missed happening on both Earths? For fans. Read Full Review

Gwen marvels at the still-mysterious return of Sue and Johnny Storm, who in her world are awful social media influencers who might well have picked up their usual superpowers during their five-year disappearance. There's a lot of compelling ideas here, and the action is illustrated with the usual level of awesomeness. The pace is slightly off, though. This is the first time I feel like the title's "one instance of retail-level superheroing per issue, always" policy works against it. I'd rather steam ahead with the Storms than digress to watch Gwen save a (ludicrously ugly-cute, I admit) pug.

Spider-Gwen saved a pug. Johnny and Sue as influencers, I'm not fan of this.

Some of this was written a little oddly and kind of stilted, like the random reflection on what she was up to 5 years ago with her dad, it felt more quippy than necessary tbh.
