Gamma Flight #1 does a solid job of establishing the team and what the miniseries' story will be about going forward. You get a sense of where the characters are at now that they're on the run, what some of the team dynamics are, and who the main threat will be going forward. The art and colors from Lan Medina and Antonio Fabela looks good depicting both the human characters and gamma mutates on page. This is definitely a comic for Immortal Hulk fans who want to see more of Gamma Flight. Read Full Review

I would recommend this if you are already a fan of the Hulk and related stories and want to follow some new characters. Also it is only a short run series so it would be easier to collect all of them. Read Full Review

For me, the unique selling point of the Immortal Hulk was the horror vibe that was in place throughout. With that said, I am not sure how readers will feel without that hook. Coupled with the fact that for the most part, these characters aren't the most popular, I am unsure of the longevity of the series; Marvel may feel the same with a five issue limit. Al Ewing, however, has been with the Hulk for a while, he and Frasier may have something up their gamma irradiated sleeves. Read Full Review

All in all, Gamma Flight #1 delivers a middle-of-the-road debut. The character work is fun, but the plot direction is something we've all seen by this point. This paired with a solid art style marred by distracting coloring choices makes it all the more middling. This series might be worth picking up for current Immortal Hulk fans who can't get enough of the series before it ends; however, for the average comic fan this debut will not do much to attract interest. A very good start to the series, its cool seeing the Immortal Hulk cast being used in a different ways. This also gives Al Ewing the chance to wrap up some storylines he didn't have the chance to in Immortal Hulk

I love how light-hearted this issue is compared to Immortal Hulk. And the slower pace too. Moments like Puck playing video games on the couch with Rick and Del are the reason this series should exist

I don't know when this issue takes place, but I don't really care that much. Seeing Gamma Flight try to progress comes across as a little challenging to say the least. Not for me but them, Absorbing Man and Titania wanna tie the knot; Sampson wants to get back into his own body and is having trouble relating to his situation even to the disfigured Rick Jones whose fused to another gamma. Then there's Dr. McGowan who doesn't really know where she wants to go. And Puck's here because... shut up he's cool! There's a lot of real potential in storytelling here. Seeing them come to the aid of a gamma mutate to try and make something out of their little progress is genuinely good. Only problem comes in the form of the return of a cult favorite more

The first thing you realize right out of the gate with this one is... It's not Immortal Hulk, as much as we all want it to be. It may be a bit unfair to compare it to Immortal Hulk, but it's spinning directly out of it and features more than a few of the same characters. My hope is that this mini finds its footing. It's not a bad issue, but we can't help but compare it to one of the best Hulk runs ever. It's tough competition.

Gamma Flight, left to their own devices, launch a side-quest investigating a new Gamma-mutate mystery. Though I'll admit the storytelling standards here aren't up to those of the Immortal Hulk, the writers and artists are striving and I say they get well above average. Most importantly, characterization is right in line with the parent book. I wanted to hear more about these folks, and it's clear as can be that they're still the same folks.

Well, this was included in the new Immortal Hulk omni, so maybe it is important... I must admit, it's better, than I expected. Quite interesting and the artstyle is close to the tone of the Immortal Hulk. However, it's funny how sometimes Titania has a male body and some other times she has some sexy poses and female boobs... I guess, the artist just couldn't decide how to portray her... Also it's so amusing, that you can't add an LGBT character without instantly reminding your readers, that this character is LGBT. That sudden "by the way, I'm trans!" from the Immortal Hulk was already enough, but no, Ewing decided "hey, it's a new limited series! maybe not everyone still know McGowan is trans! Let's make a "transphobic" scene to insult more
