This is a feel-good issue as we see this team performing at their best. Johnny's frustration shines forth as Reed and Spidey guide him into taking apart a deadly weapon of mass destruction. Taylor's dialogue and banter is the highlight in an otherwise run-of-the-mill comic. Friendly Neighborhood Spider-man#13 is a standard superhero adventure that could work as a Spider-man tale in any decade. Tom Taylor still spins a strong story and has good handle on the Fantastic Four beyond Human Torch, whom he wrote in an earlier issue. It's enough to make me want to read a Fantastic Four comic by Taylor some day, but there's a lot of titles I hope to see Taylor write someday. In FNSM #13, a decent script ties a bow on the volume's long-running Under York thread with a nice guest-star turn by the Fantastic Four. It's a good story, but not strong enough to withstand the confusion sewn by a rushed, disjointed game of artist roulette. This comic lacks the visual horsepower it needs to satisfy. Read Full Review

While the plot of the story had some issues it was still a good read, however, I believe this is an arc that could of maybe carried into 2 or 3 issues. It was fun and good to see Spider-Man saving the day alongside his old friends, the Fantastic Four. I feel like Tom Taylor should have considered carrying this into two or 3 issues like he did in issues 1-4 before concluding it in this one issue. Overall it was good and still a fun read.

Most times people complain that stories are stretched out to a snails pace but here it's done way too quick. I'm trying to stick with this book but it's inconsistent especially the art which was all over the place.

The story was there, but it was on a race track. This could have been so much better, FNSP #12 was such a great issue that you would expect the same for #13 except it will not happen. I hope the next one isn't in a hurry.

Spidey and the FF solve Under York's dictator problem with suspicious speed and simplicity. The fast pace combines with an unfortunate attack of "artist carousel" to render this issue a disappointment compared to previous ones. It's still OK, but the creators have set the bar so much higher in the rest of this series!
