Fantastic Four #10

Easily one of the greatest villains in the entire Marvel Universe, the Skrulls are always up to no good. This time around, we get to see what happens when one Skrull is left alone on Earth in 1776. As a few members are considering abolishing Slavery the Skrull posing as Benjamin Franklin ensures they do not. If that doesn't show what kind of scum the Skrulls are, then I dunno what does/will! And this wasn't some devious plan by the Skrulls. No this was just a bored Skrull “meddling”. The question I had at the end was this: If the Skrulls had never met the Fantastic Four till that day, did the Fantastic Four start the battle that will rage for years and possibly the first stepping stone to Secret Invasion? Things are really starting to get interesting for the Fantastic Four. Where Fraction is taking this from here is anyones guess, but it will be quite a ride to see how things pan out. Things are also tying into FF again, so readers who are only reading one, may want to make some room on their pull list. Read Full Review

Seeing all of these actions and reactions at play makes for a tense familial drama, which was refreshing to see after the let-down of the last issue. A lot of problems come to the surface, but not all of them are wrapped up in a neat little bow. Overall a very solid issue. Read Full Review

Overall, this is a solid issue. As noted, I was somewhat concerned when this issue was solicited, fearing that this would just be a silly time travel issue (and talking of time travel, didn't Age of Ultron break it or something?) acting merely as a filler. However, this actually was an important issue, moving the main plot forward, and I'm interested in seeing where the Fantastic Four go next as Reed searches for a cure for their condition " as well as seeing just what its effects will be on Ben and Johnny. The first half of this issue is spent with Reed once again explaining the disease that’s killing him to Johnny, Franklin, and Val. Johnny is understandably angry that he was told last. The whole conversation is uninteresting and felt like I’ve read it before. The family discovers a Skrull posing as Ben Franklin in 1776 and while it’s interesting and a good time, it falls short of being fantastic
