Fantastic Four is not without some assets. Casey Jones' artwork is clean and seethes with emotion that while often crosses the border to risibility still looks good. The characters behave like themselves, and the humor on the Ferris wheel and over Davy Crockett brings a smile to one's face. I'm also pleased that Mr. Waid treats the one instance of masked profanity as out of character, uncommon to any of the members' repartee and a symptom of deeper issues. Read Full Review

The issue isn't too offensive, but the reason it only gets ONE AND A HALF SILVER BULLETS is simply because it doesn't do much for Mr. Waid's run (this was written before he was fired.) The changes are rather predictable, and some things are more bizarre than entertaining. What started out as such a fun, great run has turned into a failed Disney flick which has worn out its welcome. Spectacular issue. Fantastic Four 501 is a perfect aftermath issue to 500 yet it manages to be great and engaging all the same. This series continues to be all about family, as it should be
