Oct 12, 2017In todays current media, Marvel Comics is highly criticized for its lack of proper introductions or just overall writings of diverse characters. Sam Wilson has never been one of them. His entry as Captain America was a welcome change and some even felt that he shouldn't of been removed from the mantle. However with this new start, Sam has a chance to finally be a pillar for the Marvel landscape. If the current plotline continues with the same momentum, The hopes are definitely flying high for Falcon. Read Full Review

Oct 14, 2017THE FALCON #1 is a powerful start to this Sam Wilson series. Rodney Barnes does a great job establishing this character in Marvel Legacy without his stripes and shield. Read Full Review

Oct 16, 2017At the end of each Legacy first issue or Legacy first chapter, there is a three-page story that summarizes the history of that issue's lead character or characters. Falcon's three-page summary is written by Robbie Thompson; drawn by Mark Bagley (pencils) and Andrew Hennessy (inks); colored by Israel Silva; and lettered by Joe Caramagna. Read Full Review

Oct 11, 2017Falcon #1 and as a series serves as the best follow-up to the disaster that was Captain America working for HYDRA. This is not the book to sleep on if you want a story with heart to it. The whole HYDRA event didn't stick with me, but when you take the perspective of someone who is affected as a fried to Steve, of someone who is seen as stained by that association, even to his own people, a story like that may have been worth it. We couldn't get to where we are with Falcon getting back to basics without that nightmare. Read Full Review

Oct 16, 2017Sam's tenure as Captain America and betrayal by Steve Rogers has him in uncharted territory. The fallout has him in a weird head space. Fortunate for readers that's going to make for great super hero stories as he tries to confront Chicago gang violence. Read Full Review

Oct 11, 2017Falcon is trying to come into his own with his own title. While there were some moments that stood out and the reveal of the villain at the end is interesting, much of the plot seemed a little mediocre. Hopefully, the series leans into the story of a hero betrayed because that story feels more interesting. Read Full Review

Oct 15, 2017In short, it's a tense issue, with some well-crafted parts and strong art, but it leaves me worried that without the red, white and blue, Sam Wilson isn't considered top-drawer hero material by the powers-that-be at Marvel. The Falcon #1 is still an above average read and a book that I will come back for more of in coming months. Read Full Review

Comic Watch - jzwilson
Oct 25, 2017Falcon #1 is a less-than-stellar debut. The characterization is clich and mediocre, providing no fresh or interesting insights into the lead and supporting characters. However, the action sequences are well-staged and the artwork is effective and exciting. Plus, the story ends on a high note by revealing a powerful villain who isnt overused and could drive the story to greater heights. Though I cant enthusiastically recommend this book, its only the 1st inning. Im willing to buy the next issue to see if the writer can get the bases loaded or even hit a home run. Read Full Review

IGN - Jesse Schedeen
Oct 11, 2017This new series shows some potential as it attempts to chart a new course for Sam Wilson, but the lackluster execution makes it a tough sell for all but hardcore Falcon fans. This first issue struggles to properly balance the Marvel Universe with real-world drama, and the dialogue has a tendency to become overwrought and stilted. If Sam is going to thrive as he returns to his old role, it's not going to be a quick or easy transition. Read Full Review

Oct 11, 2017This debut feels like a definite downgrade from the man who was once Captain America - hopefully The Falcon ups its game soon, because otherwise Sam Wilson is going to wind up right back on the B-list. Read Full Review
