INHUMANS VS. X-MEN TIE-IN!
• The X-Men have just learned that the Terrigen Mist-the source of the Inhumans' powers that through a cruel twist of fate is lethal to Mutants-has reached an irreversible saturation point, rendering Earth uninhabitable to their kind.
• And now they see no other option than to strike against the Inhumans to ensure their own survival.
• But one X-Man doesn't take the decision lightly.
• STORM has literally led the X-Men through hell and back, but will she lead them against their longtime friends and allies?

Dec 28, 2016Extraordinary X-Men #17 as well as the previous issue do a great job of framing the moral and practical reasoning for why this faction is jumping into the fight against the Inhumans, it was a heartfelt issue that took a tone and style that is quite rare. The art somehow felt very personal as well, There were some shots of Maya that were reminiscent of Frank Quietly's art which I enjoyed and some vignette's of Storm's life that had a very tributary feel to it. Extraordinary X-Men #17 a must read for anyone wanting to take a quick glimpse into the X-Men's side of the upcoming war from a moral standpoint. Read Full Review

Dec 28, 2016Based on the information I have about next month's Extraordinary X-Men #18, Forge should be at the center of the action. I hope this is true, and I hope Lemire continues these character-focused tie-in issues for the remainder of IVX. This is shaping up to be a strong X-event, and I can't think of a better way to end this series, which has showcased terrific character work, than with personal stories from the Inhuman-mutant war. Storm has always been a peace maker so seeing her choose to fight in a war needed to be explained very well, and this is issue that does it. The motives of why the X-Men are very apparent here. Lemire makes you feel for the mutants and their motives and the art of Koda, Palmer and Hollowell fit the story very nicely especially that double spread scene. Let's keep up the great story.

Strong emotional interactions and the art seemed to get better with each page (or else I warmed to it over the issue).
