Eternals #7

Eternals #7 does a lot of setup for this new story arc and possibly beyond. Adding Thanos to this book is the gift that keeps on giving, especially as hes been missing from Eternals comics. Gillen is exactly the right writer to bring him back, as he seems to understand Thanos is more than a cudgel. Too many other writers dont get that, and itll be great to see where Gillen takes things with all of the characters. Ribic and Wilson are working wonderfully together; the art looks sensational. The Eternals' world has changed forever, and Gillen and Ribic are here to shake up everything they can. This book continues to delve deep into the Eternals world, and how they factor into it, but theres still some issues regarding pace, and the delays continue to prove detrimental to the momentum of this story. Eternals #7 starts the new story arc for the Eternals, and this issue feels more like Thanos' story. The primary team of Eternals don't really do anything significant in this comic, while the real story is with Thanos and Druig. Their plot to make the Mad Titan leader of the Eternals is as ridiculous as their method to do so. However, it does chart an interesting new course for the Eternals and especially Thanos. Amazing, Gillen does it again, I really hope the movie's failure won't diminish the comic's success, Eternals are not very popular as it is.

This is STILL the best series Marvel is putting out right now. Maybe some things happening outside the comics industry can help more people to realize that? I dunno, maybe a movie or something?

I feel like this series is underrated and not talked about enough. Gillen deserves a lot of credit and praise for what he's doing with this series. He's quietly writing one of the best ongoings at Marvel currently in my opinion. Ribic is as good as ever as well. Consistently great writing, story, art. It's really everything you want in an ongoing.

It's another gorgeous installment, but this one is slanted toward political plot development. It's ample compensation for dialogue that's a little drier than usual, and this issue comes out intriguing and strong. Shyeah, like people would ever vote against their own self-interest and elect a flagrantly evil leader. *looks back at last 10 years of history* Oh, right. Objection withdrawn.

I thought it was OK. I liked certain parts but, it just didn't excite me like it should have.
